Nienna sat next to Freya and hummed in response. The young human carried the weight of the world in her hands and with how dire the situation seemed with each passing day, the pressure had been steadily growing. She understood that pressure, the need to help everyone. Wynne had said once it was a healer’s curse and she needed to learn how to control it before it controlled her, but she still struggled from time to time.
She carefully put her hand over Freya’s and tried to smile ❝ You are doing enough ❞ she assured the warden ❝ You are doing what no other person in Thedas is doing right now: caring for others, even when everyone is caring for themselves. ❞ she gave a little squeeze to her hand ❝ And you’re even spreading the message. Speaking of, Sascha quickly hit the side of her pants with the hilt of her blade. Stickly legs poked into her skin, but it didn’t move any further.
“I think I’m at my wits end, here, Jon,” the Warden said with a face of disgust. Her eyes lit up at the sliver of light, and she dashed for it—only to halt in her tracks. The light had been foggy at best—and no wonder, a gargantuan, thick spider’s web covered their exit.
An equally-as-large spider slowly loomed over them and crawled over the exit. It’s size was large enough to completely block the light. Sascha swallowed.
“Still want to go this way, do you?” She asked. Her hands gripped the long blade in her hand until her knuckles went white.
He almost knocks himself with the warden’s back as she stops on her tracks at the sight of the monster in front of them. Jon could hear the ice cracking behind them but, as a full body shiver run through him, he realized there was no other way, they needed to get through that abomination in front of them.
He shrugged at Sascha’s question ❝ Unless you wanna stay with its lesser friends? ❞ he replied, channeling enough energy to cast a fireball towards the intricate spider web, movement apparently made the owner of this nice lair all angry and violent towards them. He casted his spirit sword and with the restant energy he enchanted her sword to become a flaming blade. ❝ Ladies first? ❞ he joked, charging the moment she did.
Jon never considered himself to be a normal mage, never enjoyed staying behind casting spells from a safe distance, never found fun in learning how to cast protections or healing spells, he loved the adrenaline of fighting up close... yet he never imagined he would ever need his spirit blade to save his damn life! Ugh, ever since the rebellion nothing in his life had turned out as planned. ❝ I knew there was a reason I never wanted to leave the circle in the first place ❞ he muttered as he slashed one of the spider’s leg.
The bastard was proving to be tougher than it looked and he hated every shriek and growl that came out from it’s damn mouth.

Spiders. Why did it have be spiders? He pierced the closest damn bug ( he knows they are not bugs, shut up ) with his spirit blade and then created a wall of ice to disperse the rest away from the warden and himself at least for a little while. Maker, he was so tired. ❝ Well, I’d say the fact we’ve endured this much is a good sign, but I don’t wanna jinx it. ❞ he panted looking around for an exit.
❝ There. That way. ❞ he indicated an gap between the solid rock, before leaving behind a trail of ice mines to cover them as they tried to reach the exit.
