one of the biggest downsides of this country is the weather, for sure—wearing coats, scarves, beanies… why is this place just so cold? not even two years and a half in this town were enough to make caspian grow used to it, grow used to wear long sleeved shirts, to cover every bit of his body with layers of clothes, and to keep his hands into his jacket’s pockets, not to freeze his fingers. sitting there, on a bench close to the beach, he can at least hear the waves breaking in the distant, the cold sea breeze messing his hair, and that’s the closest he dares to go when it’s cold like this, when he simply can’t go into the water and spend a while there as he usually does.

“hm…” he thinks for a few seconds, biting down his lower lip. “there are a few, but some of them, that i’ve already achieved, would be… dive in the great barrier reef, surf in south africa, witness baby sea turtles racing to the ocean, go to a music festival, get lost in a foreign country.” caspian chuckles by the end, shaking his head. “i recommend all of those… except the getting lost, if you’re an anxious or easily stressed person. otherwise it is just funny.”
“there are so many things, dude,” he laughs softly, scratching his cheek as he thinks. most of the things caspian knows are things his parents taught him. how to treat animals, how to take care of sea turtles, how to read and write… “surfing!” he finally decides then, the smile growing bigger. “my father taught me how to surf when i was seven to eight years old, i think. i had a terrible balance, but dad is a patient and chill man. he was also the one who taught me to swim when i was much younger, so it was good to learning from him, he always trusted i would manage everything without putting pressure to it. if it wasn’t for him, i wouldn’t have made a career out of it for a couple of years.”

that’s caspian travers walking down the street, the twenty-five year old, who looks like brenton thwaites. here in apple peak, he is a student and intern at apple peak zoo. some say he acts like squirt from finding nemo / finding dory, since he can be free-spirited, but also a little bit impulsive.
what’s up, kids! i’m jae (s/h), 1/4 century of age, and i’m new and very excited to be here!! it took me a while to come up with which disney character would fit the kind of muse i was wanting to bring (very bright, joyful, carefree) and the more i thought and struggled, the more i got indecisive djaksls. BUT, bless finding nemo? for having? the cutest sea turtle baby in the world? that fit everything i wanted for my muse?
so here we are now. you guys got the story of how the muse was decided / born, now i give you more of his backstory + some random connections by the end! if anyone wants to plot, please like this post and i’ll drop by your ims so we can talk! i really suck at open starters, but i will Try to put one up at some point, too!
caspian was born in cairns, queensland (australia), to christopher travers (a marine biologist) and crystal travers (a marine veterinarian). he’s the youngest child and has four older siblings.
his mother, quite a nerd, clearly named him after the caspian sea. he also answers by cas, casp or ian.
both his parents worked with projects involving the great barrier reef: while his father took it as a whole, his mother worked with the sea turtles rehabilitation. they were always a great inspiration for him and he would always try to be around them, or see them working and trying to help and understand.
he always loved both of his parents, but always spent more time with his father. he was the one who started teaching him to surf when he was just eight years old.
a while after he turned fourteen, caspian started to be part of surfing competitions. he made a career out of a hobby for quite a few years and traveled to different countries for competitions the better he got.
he stayed in the competitions until 2013, when he had an injury. his retirement had nothing to do with it, though: his mother had just passed away and he decided it was time to get back to his studies, since he was getting late at uni, due to all the surf lessons, training and competitions.
he got a bachelor in marine biology after two years! it isn’t what he wants just yet, though: he wants to be a veterinarian, like his mother. that being said, when moving to apple peak, he started to get his medical degree. nowadays, he’s on his third year and just started an internship at the zoo!
his move from across the world happened because of his father: he thought it was time for them to have a new adventure, to try something else, after being offered a job in APU. he is a professor at uni and a volunteer at the zoo, so they still spend a lot of time together though not living together.
his siblings are all around the world and working on different things, though all of them are, somehow, involved in biology or ecology.
as for personality, caspian is the most friendly and chill young man someone could ever meet: sometimes he can even be annoying. he smiles a lot, talks a lot (really a small talk pro), meets people on every corner. he loves to pull out random curiosities involving the great barrier reef and sea turtles and currents. everyone can be randomly called dude or mate, and he still says a few australian slangs out of sudden. his natural accent is the one from queensland (brenton’s actual accent), though wouldn’t be completely hard to see him easily pulling the standard american (either to make fun of americans or to make sure others are understanding him).
HUGE PS: though he speaks in aussie accent, that won’t be on my writing. english is not my first language and that would be just a huge work for me, rip, so i will leave that part for imagination only!
for plots! i would love him to have a roommate, lots of friends, exes (gfs, bfs, flings), people he probably has known for a long time (this might be hard since he lived in australia but? maybe we can plot something), co-workers in the zoo, Anything, truly. if you have any plots you’d like to work on, just @ me and we can try our best!
