💫— “No no no, wait up just a moment.” Meggan’s ankle swollen and angry as she made her way over to the figure approaching her set up. “It’s my stuff, it’ll be gone in a second, promise.”
Kate Bishop had made it a habit of sticking her nose where it absolutely didn’t belong, it was how she’d gotten the gig as a young avenger in the first place, how she’d managed to find herself under Hawkeye’s wing. This time, well, this time it landed her looking at a collection of items, more questions than answers until the figure approached. “Oh, no big deal or anything... just a little too curious for my own good.”

💫— “No no no, wait up just a moment.” Meggan’s ankle swollen and angry as she made her way over to the figure approaching her set up. “It’s my stuff, it’ll be gone in a second, promise.”
Prior to a lethal amount of radiation exposure, Bruce Banner hadn’t been one for interfering in things he had no part in, and yet, in addition to gaining a new green alter ego... he’d also found himself wanting to help more often than not. It was how he ended up here. “Oh, I wasn’t going to take it, I was just coming to see if you are alright... do you need any help?”
☄️— “Now, it’s not every day someone so special walks into my saloon.” Jeans smile was full of mischief as they smiled at the figure obscured by bright light, they didn’t have any outright plan, but what was a Phoenix to do when opportunity fell into their lap? “Drink? First drinks free with a secret.”
Going into the saloon, being confronted with a ghost from the past, wasn’t Logan Howlett’s favorite idea, but it wouldn’t kill him, so he moved forward with it anyway. There had been a momentary hope that this Jean wouldn’t be there, and he and his wedding rings around his neck could be left in peace, but there was no such luck. So, instead he walks forward, taking a seat and asks “My money is still good here, right?”
🔬 — “Not special in the slightest, but it’s a very sweet comment.” The blonde remarked, offering a gentle smile of her own as she approached, taking a seat at the bar. “Drink for a secret? Seems like a good trade for me... but would the saloon be okay? Like... financially?”
“wow, hey bruce.” it’d been awhile since she’d seen him, but it was nice. natasha had just finished working on the paperwork for the repairs on the killiseum since the m.o.d.o.k. of it all when her office door had opened and bruce stepped through. “i hope you weren’t standing outside and waiting or debating if you should come in,” she raised a brow, a teasing nature in her tone as she smiled. it felt like ages since the team had all been together in one area - far too long - and avoiding the parts where any of them died, well… it’s nice that some variant form of them were here. “clint’s around here too if you wanted to see him, but i suspect you’re here to talk to me about something - what’s up?”
the dichotomy between bruce banner and the hulk was clear as day to anyone who truly knew the good doctor. the hulk would so brazenly charge into rooms, destroying everything in his way without a care in the world, not caring who got hurt in the process. dr. banner was more careful, calculated, nervous. maybe that was why he’d been standing outside the office, fiddling with his sleeve for a moment before finally committing to it and entering the room. he found a familiar figure - natasha romanoff, the black widow herself - inside the office as expected, but that didn’t mean that it was any less of a relief to see her. “hey nat.” he offered gently, his lips curving upwards in a small smile, one he’s able to maintain even as she guesses correctly his course of actions just prior to finding the courage to open the door. “nothing like that... i just wanted to see a familiar face and i didn’t really spend much time in this part of the killiseum when i was here so i got a little turned around is all.” there’s a hint of laughter that accompanies his words, trying to make light of the situation, trying to relax at all, but it’s harder than he’d like it to be. “how have you been?”

shoving another bite of her food into her mouth, yelena gave a nod in response - taking one look down at the dog staring at her expectantly - or rather, her bowl of pizza balls. “well, if you’re certain - not even trained russian assassins can say no to that face.” she stated factly, as if it were simple common knowledge before she crouched down in front of lucky, and offering him the rest of her meal. “i’ll get more later, anyway.” yelena brushed it off before she stood up, brushing her hands off on her pants and gave a look back to kate. “you’re still hanging around barton, then? and here i thought you could learn some better taste.” for the most part, it was a joke, but she didn’t make that much too obvious. “what have you been doing here in this new world?”
“you didn’t have to do that, though lucky will certainly appreciate it more than you’ll ever know” it’s easy to roll her eyes at the insult of her taste, but given the fact that she could have just as easily lost clint and lucky... she could take a couple backhanded comments and jokes. she thinks it’s a joke, it’s hard to tell with the widow sometimes. “yeah, and he still acts like i’m twelve sometimes. but family, what can you do, right?” she laughs with a gentle shrug as she watches lucky start graciously consuming the pizza balls he’d been offered. “i’ve been working as a weapons handler at the kiliseum with clint. it’s not the worst, i get to see natasha sometimes. what about you?”
💾 — Confirmation brought little comfort, but it was not not nice. It was hard, but she nodded. Surely he would show up somehow… in someway. “And you knew Harry?” That was a question she didn’t want to ask. Had all intent and purpose to avoid even bringing it up. But, a part of her had to know. “I don’t. Didn’t, I mean. It was just me and Ned… pretty much.” Without knowing the missing piece of her life, MJ found it hard to connect the two of them together. Was it a fluke, or was there a deeper meaning, buried beneath? “Well, and Flash.”
“Briefly, I used to work for Oscorp under Norman from the time I was in high school until everything happened.” She’d known of Harry Osborn, seen him in the corner of her eye, met him once or twice, but it was nothing more than two ships passing in the night. Having met Harry here, another version of him, there is some guilt in Gwen Stacy’s heart that she didn’t try harder to get to know him back in her own universe, but perhaps it had been for the best. He would have been another person to mourn, another one of the dead and gone, and it wouldn’t have been fair to this Harry to compare him to the old. “I had friends back home but... Pete was my best friend.” If you excluded the time that had passed since her father died where he became more of a memory than a man. “Have you seen Flash?”
💙 — “Is your Kurt not Deutsch where you are from? Mein Gott, please tell me they are not French.” He was partially poking fun, and partially.. jealous? Curious? It was a difficult feeling to pinpoint. “Likewise, my friend. You look good.” He couldn’t say the same for Logan’s perspective, but the familiarity was certainly uncanny in level. A hand extends toward the man. “How about we start again. A clean slate. It seems only fair, ja?” To them, and their loved ones.
“He is, but I still didn’t understand half the shit he used to say... with French at least I’d have a fightin’ chance.” There’s bitter laughter that lingers their, a brief appearance of a smile he’d long forgotten about that lingers even after Kurt’s reply. For an old man, adapting to an entirely new existence was hard. It always had been - it always would be - but doing so in this fashion had been utterly brutal. A moment passes before he offers a stiff nod, reaching out to take the blue hand and give it a firm shake. “Clean slate.”
💙 — “Was war das?” the elf baited, leaning over the bar to peer his yellow eyes at the man in question. “Did not catch that.” But Kurt, he knows he cannot hide the exhaustion in his voice. Cannot pretend he has not aged in the face. This apocalypse, albeit survived, was the worst yet.. and this was one prime example as to why. His heart, heavy. So he smiled, turned to the bartender as they poured his order, and took his first swig.
“Gonna be honest, Kurt, I have no fucking idea what you’re saying now.” It wasn’t as if he’d ever been good at understanding what the mutant was saying, even when he gave it his best efforts. Peering at the man, hand resting on the bar, he does think to admit “It’s nice to see you... even if you’re not my Nightcrawler.” Familiar without being unbearably painful.
It was almost comical, how easy this mission would be. Didn’t Doom expect them to use fire on paper? Come on. Was their metal-faced overlord just trying to mess with him now? Still, it was nice to get a little bit of action; a little bit of that pent up energy out and about. And, at the very least, they were saving people. Kate Bishop wasn’t who he was expecting to get paired with; after all, he’d only heard of her through the grapevine. Barton’s protege, turned, well, excellent markswoman, as far as he could tell. Their plan ( okay her plan ) seemed simple enough, and was quite good too, so he hadn’t argued. As they sauntered up to the building, Thor knew they’d be in and out of this “mission” quite easily. “Yes, easy as peas,” he nodded, giving her a quick reassuring grin. She was young, a little nervous, and so he carefully clapped her on the back. “You need me, for anything, just yell. I’ve excellent hearing.” And with a nod, he was off, in the sky with lightning gathering around him as he broke through a window of the library and let the first book burst into glorious flames.
Shooting her arrow, she watched it pierce the first book with a satisfying visual as the flames began to consume the pages. “Heck yeah!” she screamed in victory, shooting off another two arrows that find their mark, though the victory is short lived as she watches the books continue to fly despite the arrow now piercing the pages and the flames licking at the paper, turning it shades of black and brown. Any minute now, she thinks hopefully, though her smile has started to falter, and then one of the flaming books comes in her direction and she has to drop to avoid catching light herself. Picking herself up the ground, she watched as the flaming books managed to catch others alight, and she began to regret her decision. “Okay... okay... maybe that wasn’t the best idea...”

“What the hell is wrong with this place?” Lorna had heard about the strange errands Doom had been…well, she supposed you couldn’t really call it asking. Not with Doom. She herself tended to do whatever the hell she wanted – it was in her genes, after all. Come hell or high water, any child of Erik Lensherr was going to march to the beat of their own drum, however trite that phrase may be. She looked around as she spoke, in part to make sure that none of those pesky little DoomBots were around, and also to ensure that none of the weird shit people had been dealing with was creeping up on her. “For the record, if we see a zombie around here, I’m making your blood run backward and turning you into chum for it. I’m getting away no matter what.”
Bruce Banner was still getting used to being in control again, having been stuck as the Hulk ever since the universes had practically imploded on themselves. It was a strange feeling, like he’d lost time and like he hadn’t, like he’d lost all the progress he’d made in his journey when he’d landed in a universe where Doctor Doom was their supreme leader, Doombots filled the skies, and there was some place called Pizza Poppa’s. It was all a lot to take in, and well, he guesses he shouldn’t be surprised to hear a particularly unique threat thrown in his direction by a stranger. “... Okay then. I’ll remember that.”
💾 — It was different, having one of her less than solid theories just accepted like that. She’d heard Gwen was nice, very nice, but she was still somewhat caught off guard by the gentle way she reacted to what could easily be taken nonsensically. “Was there a, Midtown High where you’re from?” Something told MJ that’s where she knew her. The other MJ. From school or something very close to it. That’s what made the most sense, surely. “I met my best friend there. He’s, um, not shown up yet. Or a version of him.” She tried not to dwell too much on that. “Ned Leeds. Short, eccentric. Likes Star Wars.”
It could have been easy enough to poke hole in the theory, but what would be the point of that? With the multiverse confirmed, possibilities were endless, and it was better to lean into ideas than try and debunk them. “Yes, there was actually.” It gave her a chance for hope, that their universes weren’t so different after all. At the question she paused, trying to spark any memory, even the slightest, of the boy she asked about, but came up blank, so she regrettably admitted “I didn’t know a Ned... but he sounds great.” Pausing, she’s quick to remind “I’m sure he’ll show up... some version of him at least.” Silently, she hoped for MJ’s sake, that the Ned Leeds that did eventually rear his head would be hers.

QUESTIONNAIRE
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT EMPEROR DOOM?
as the hulk, banner was more or less indifferent, but now that he has all of his faculties, he thinks he’s a tyrant that will inevitably destroy the last ‘safe’ place on the planet.
HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT THE BATTLES? ARE THEY TRYING TO AVOID THEM? OR ARE THEY EAGER TO JUMP IN?
as a battle champion, the hulk fed off the high that the victory provided, leaning into it for fuel as the fire. on a fundamental level, bruce finds them abhorrent, and yet.... he still shows up every time, as he feels like the lines between the hulk and himself are starting to blur and if he doesn’t indulge hulk well.. he isn’t sure he wants to find out what happens then.
WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED THEIR JOB POSITION? WILL THEY USE IT TO GET CLOSER TO DOOM? OR WILL THEY USE IT EXPLOIT HIM? OR DO THEY SIMPLY LIKE THEIR JOB?
as the hulk, there were VERY few options in regards to what occupation could be... productive.
with a flash of metal and a clash of uru-infused steel and organic material, val quickly drove her sword through one of the tentacles - peering over to see logan doing much of the same. “you’ve got a knack for this, sure you don’t want to be an honorary asgardian? i can do that, you know - i am king after all.” val called over as the creature’s lifeblood spewed out and all over the lab and them. “well that’s gross,” at the deafening roar the being made, val sighed and gave logan a quick look before yelling back at the being. the lab was destroyed and the portal on the opposite side - but she was sure that her and logan could make this work. “yeah, he’s gonna be grateful. what’s he gonna do? try to fight us over it? love to see him try.” raising a leg up, she slammed her heeled boot into the eye and let out a disgusted noise when it went in, yanking back quickly to pull back and away. “alright, don’t kick the eye.”
the two of them work like a well oiled machine, both managing to dissect a tentacle in a single strike, his claws and her sword making a hell of a pair. “first of all, i’d need to know what an asgardian is —” he wasn’t sure he wanted to know, not anymore than he wanted to know whatever the hell was over his claws at the moment as he prepared to lay a second blow. “ — second of all, what the fuck is the point of emperor doom if we have to do all the dirty work.” pointless, that was what. “ and you know what, if reed fucking richards is so desperate he can find a way to get the fucking thing back after he cleans up.” send him the bill for all he cared. landing another blow against the ocular menace, he watches as her boot becomes imbedded in the goo of the eye. “didn’t plan on it, your majesty.”

Felicia lounged on the tree branch above Gwen, in her full gear as she the other toyed with the translator. She wasn’t used to working with people. Not unless she was going to double cross them. However, she was backed into a promise by Spider-Man. A favour for a favour. As the saying goes, you have to spend money to make money. Though escorting civilians nor was anything remotely heroic her kind of deal. She mainly just did what she wanted. That was the freedom of being Black Cat. The detachment of these social norms and self-made rules. Still, as aloof and unloyal she liked to come across, she didn’t want blood on her hands. As she spoke about finally understanding it, Felicia flipped down from the branch and landed next to Gwen. “I’ll leave the nerdy stuff to you. No offense.” She huffed as she stood up straight. “We can be like sisters. I can be the totally cool one and you can be the one into science and stuff. We’d be just like Modern Family.” Of course Felicia would find to make a joke about their situation. “I’m just here to make sure you don’t die. Again, no offense.” She looked over at Gwen, her eyes narrowing behind the goggles. “Though, I do wonder, what is it that Spider-Man has for you. Says you have a mutual friend. Favour for a favour and all. We should totally hang out if neither of us die. Between you and me, I am way more fun than Spider-Dork.”
It wasn’t that Gwen Stacy had imagined that she and Felicia Hardy would become the best of friends in the matter of a trip, bonding over the fact that they’d met a t-rex and lived to tell the tale, but her brutal honesty was slightly more startling than she would have liked to admit. “No offense taken... I’ll take care of the translator.” Her smile stayed affixed to her features, even as her eyes dropped back down to the controls, fiddling with them to distract herself from the situation at hand. “Never had a sister... but it does sound like every comedy ever...” That was what Modern Family was, wasn’t it? A comedy? The blonde only looks up from the controls to raise an eyebrow as the other blonde explains her whole purpose for coming, a deal she’s made with Spider-Man of all people. Has Peter...? But that didn’t make sense, what kind of leverage little old Pete have to make Spider-Man take out a favor? “Yeah, we can hang out... we can do whatever you want if we get out of here alive and get this translator back to it’s owner in one piece.”
it wasn’t every day that yelena had time to herself - playing guard at doom’s castle and throwing herself into battles at the killiseum out of sheer boredom took up most of her time. but when she could indulge, she took the opportunity. at the moment, it was with the pizza poppa’s pizza balls - an extra cheesy lump of them in the bowl she held with one hand, pouring on some hot sauce with the other. “perfect.” she muttered, primarily to herself before she looked away from her bowl to notice a dog, staring at her expectedly where she stood. it only took her another flicker of her gaze to find kate. “i think your dog wants my food, kate bishop.” she stated plainly, stabbing a fork into the pizza ball and shoving it into her mouth. “i would share but i don’t think the hot sauce would agree with him.”
“lucky, we really need to teach you about what a day off means...” while kate bishop would always be eternally grateful that in the universal shakeup she’d been able to keep her dog, she had to say, sometimes lucky could be a little TOO needy. it was a day off, she’d taken lucky halfway across doom’s creation at least five times today, and yet, here she was doing it for a sixth time. not prepared to argue with the puppy dog eye lucky shot her way, she let him lead her about, not really paying attention to where she was being led until a familiar voice made her head pop up. “probably, but i wouldn’t be so sure that the hot sauce could take him out, he’s got clint’s stomach... pretty sure lucky could eat a brick and he’d be fine — not that i’d ever let him do that. only the best for lucky the pizza dog...”
