ethan had just gotten back from overseas and the last thing he wanted was for his mom to attempt to hook him up with one of her friend’s daughters and so the first thing he did was ask one of his close friends to tag along for the night as his date with the promise of being a gentleman. with the liquid courage pumping through his veins, he was definitely being more bold than he normally would be and so,  he didn’t hesitate to stop under the mistletoe and nod up at it once he caught her hand to get her attention. “what do you think?”

agreeing to accompany ethan came was an enough decision for kenna. she knows what its like to be the unmarried child, bound for a life of blind dates and mismatches until finally settling down. it’s far more unpleasant than the fathering he’s invited her too. there’s enjoyment to be found in watching his interactions with family and she’s never one to turn down a drink. she’s got one mid grasp when she feels a hand on her own and she secures it before focusing her attention on whats caught his. “well it’s one way to keep your mom from setting you up again,” head tilts thoughtfully as she raises the cup to her lips, “depends on how single you want your family to think you are. we goin’ all in?”

sole resentment towards josiah’s title of eldest brother is getting stuck with the mundane errands for the family. yet he stands in the unreasonably long queue until he can finally give the barista his order. location calls for a boring wait, likely scrolling through instagram mindlessly until his name is called. fate has other plans though, in the form of a familiar face. granted, hers is one he hasn’t seen in a while, image is still as fresh in his mind as the last time he saw her. he’s quick to move in her direction and lips quirk upward at her greeting, “Gotta get my caffeine fix, and everyone elses. My mom still stays up on Fremont, so we try to get together when we can. How you been?”
