Howdy! I'm a queer, neurodiverse + disabled selfshipper who loves cuddling with their favorite cartoon characters. I adore all my F/Os and perpetually rotate them in my brain like Smash Bros trophies, even if I don't always have the energy to draw them.

BYF: I'm neutral on ship discourse and very uncomfortable with toxic and minor/adult ships. I'm also anti-harassment, but have zero tolerance for those who engage with problematic content with the intent to exploit others or do fetish mining.

Also, I condemn the ongoing Palestinian genocide. I believe both Palestinians and Jews deserve to exist safely without the threat of violence.

As an abuse survivor, specifically an online grooming survivor, it's honestly incredibly hurtful to see so many selfshippers renew their interest in TADC when the show gives Jax, who is an extremely abusive person, a complete backstory and redemption arc, and only cares about its abuse survivor characters (Gangle, Ribbit, Pomni) as far as they can support Jax in her redemption. When you look at Goose's past (racism, nazi-jokes, allegedly grooming a minor) it's so obvious Jax is meant to be her self-insert and that speaks MILES more than I could ever articulate. I've been trying so hard to articulate this, both on my main blog @pastelalleycat and this sideblog, and it feels like none of my friends are listening. I'm genuinely considering blocking mutuals I've had for years.

Jax is essentially Goose's TADC self-insert and as such, is closely modeled after her. In my opinion, her character can't be examined without including Goose as a key part of the equation. That being said, if you still selfship with Jax or just defend her after the TADC finale, you're feeding into harm against abuse survivors and siding with a racist, misogynistic, abusive showrunner (intentionally or otherwise). Please brush up on your media literacy and be aware of who wrote Jax and why she wrote her the way she did. You are causing actual, real-life discomfort, if not blatant harm, towards abuse survivors.

It should be understood that Goose seems to be condoning Jax's urges as completely logical actions a hurting person might take when pushed to their limits. Pomni goes to save her because Pomni isn't meant to be the show's protagonist, not really– she's meant to be the self-sacrifical aphrodisiac by which Jax is redeemed and empathized with. And by extension (in my opinion), the aphrodisiac by which Goose can be redeemed from her past wrongdoings. Pomni is poised as the perfect victim, an empathetic figurehead who MUST be willing to give everything of herself and cannot exist on her individual merits.

I was stunned Glitch allowed Jax's torture fantasies – especially the one where she literally SEXUALLY COERCES a grieving Gangle – to be shown without upfront trigger warnings. I knew going in this was going to be a heavy episode, but the exclusion of trigger warnings is completely inexcusable. Jax reminded me of my ex- online groomer much more strongly than I anticipated. Thankfully, my groomer didn't make violent threats, but he gaslit me in much the same way Jax gaslit (and ultimately abandoned) Ribbit after the two opened up to each other. After he left, I thought it was all my fault, and, feeling utterly alone, I considered committing suicide like Ribbit ultimately did. I'm okay, but imagine a recent grooming survivor delving into this episode without any prior warning and having to see all of this. Would this episode give them any indication the grooming wasn't their fault? Or would it compound their guilt?
