i just wonder if Dan not wanting to get married partially came from the feeling of being stuck in a situation already (which was the double closet) so further constricting himself felt awful, whereas all those months after the hard launch it maybe changed a little.

like they had all the social consequences of a marriage without any benefits AND without actually choosing it for years now, so maybe now they feel a lot more in control and can have space to even want that type of thing
