Time Based Final
For my time based piece I had originally planned to create a video that feautured a selection feminine identifying people and shaving their heads (whole head/ parts of) but due to multiple people dropping out at the last minute this couldnβt go ahead as planned.
Instead I have documented my process of me finishing my final 2D outcome.
As the head shaving video is something Iβm still interested in I will carry on with it in my own time out with college work.
Process of 3D out come. Flowers prepared for being attached to the velvet balls.
Photographs from original photo shoot that Iβm using for inspiration for my time based work. I want to style the film in a similar fashion and look at similar themes.

Mi Ju
Mi Ju is a Korean artist who was born in 1983. Mi Ju has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Kate Oh Gallery and at the Gallery Poulsen.
βMi Ju is a master of visualizing the smallest inhabitants of the largest worlds. It has taken her nearly two years to produce all the paintings and drawings for her new show, βNest,β which runs through May 16 at Freight + Volume Gallery in Chelsea. But thatβs an impressively short amount of time considering just how meticulously detailed her pieces are. Look closely, and youβll discover an entire ecosystem in a square inch.β -

Niki de Saint Phalle
Niki de Saint Phalle was a French-American sculptor, painter, and filmmaker. She was one of the few women artists widely known for monumental sculpture, but also for her commitments.
Saint Phalle's unique brand of feminist art expressed both angst and jouissance in full and equal measure, and explored the complex and confounding ways in which culture and biology co-construct the female experience.
Her vibrant, rotund, colorful female figures contrasted heavily with the stark, monumental, and often masculine styles of her contemporaries, including the work of other feminist architects such as Louise Bourgeois and Louise Nevelson.

Carolee Schneemann
Throughout her career Carolee Schneemann has used her body to examine the role of female sensuality in connection to the possibilities of political and personal liberation from predominantly oppressive social and aesthetic conventions. Drawing on the expressive possibilities of film, performance, photography, and installation, among other media, she has explored themes of generation and goddess imagery, sexuality, and everyday erotics, as well as personal biography and loss.
She continues to perform, film, and record through the present day, and has been acknowledged by many as progenitor of Feminist art, as well as performance and multimedia art.

Tracy Emin
Tracey EminΒ is an English artist known for her autobiographical and confessional artwork. Emin produces work in a variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, film, photography, neon text and sewn appliquΓ©. Once the "enfant terrible" of the Young British Artists in the 1980s, Tracey Emin is now a Royal Academician of the Royal Academy of Arts.
Her work is often referred to as confessional, for she uses her own personal history as the subject for her artwork. She has used her own body as medium in self-portraits and performances. Her artworks enact self-mapping and self-commemorating through the possible healing and spiritual aspect of art.

Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse is widely regarded as the greatest colourist of the 20th century and as a rival to Pablo Picasso in the importance of his innovations. He emerged as a Post-Impressionist, and first achieved prominence as the leader of the French movement Fauvism. Although interested in Cubism, he rejected it, and instead sought to use colour as the foundation for expressive, decorative, and often monumental paintings.
Matisse used pure colours and the white of exposed canvas to create a light-filled atmosphere in his Fauve paintings. Rather than using modelling or shading to lend volume and structure to his pictures, Matisse used contrasting areas of pure, un-modulated colour. These ideas continued to be important to him throughout his career.

Pictures of a plate after mono printing, I wanted to record the image as the printed ripped and was ruined. I like how the light shows through the plate.
