🚙 Renault Vivasix During our underground wanderings it happens that we meet strange skeletons. The rust having taken care to strip them for a long time, we guess these voluptuous forms, coming from another time. The imposing 6-cylinder engine giving way to a gaping mouth, the light coming out of all these ventilation grids lets us imagine som guardian of the depths. 💥 Artifices 2 - Maginot Line 1940. We walk for hours in these long corridors of cold and damp concrete, relics of a not so distant past, the works of the Maginot line are a set of blockhouses on the surface linked together by underground galleries. We can see some painted words letting us guess what these rooms we pass could be used for: kitchen, bedroom, workshops, generator, ventilation, and here a room to store explosives. 🚀 Энергия - Rocket launcher "Energia M" Space, between dream and science has always attracted me, from the fascinating history of the first discoveries to current technological advances, from simply observing the stars to taking photos of this sublime Milky Way above our heads, an infinite inspiration. . After a few years practicing urban exploration, I discovered that it was possible to access a mythical cosmodrome, place of the launch of the Vostok 1 mission, of the first human to have been in space, in the footsteps of Yuri Gagarin : the Baikonur cosmodrome, the holy grail of exploration. It was enough, we decided to embark on the adventure with my friends @rxspawn & @laulilaura_ for better and for worse. We had well planned every part of this trip, the adventure of a lifetime. Bus, Trains, Planes, long stopovers, unknown country, change of scenery, especially without speaking the language of the country. One goal: to enter the active Cosmodrome in the depths of Khazakstan, an area under Russian management, in the midst of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, what could be worse? 70km of round trip walking in the desert steppes, 64 hours of autonomy in the middle of summer under overwhelming heat. But we did it, I won't go into the details this time, and if we had to do it again: without hesitation, even if I was sick the first day on site, even if we were still under pressure at because of the rounds every 30min to 2h, and that we were sorely lacking in water. The feeling there was indescribable, between hard reality and science fiction, the first sight of these metal monsters was a relief, but not as much as I would have thought. 🕳 The Hole Paradox - After 40 minutes of walking up a steep climb, through rocks, blocks and dry vegetation, under a blazing sun, we finally felt a current of fresh air and arrived at this gaping hole in the mountain. A black hole, where darkness and coolness contrasted with the light and screen heat of a summer sun. The Alpine Choughs alerting us to their presence, this gaping hole was their refuge, and for a few hours were going to disturb their peaceful home. After abseiling 60m to the bottom, we touched this ground which had nothing to do with the surface, damp, covered with moss, excroissances, bird bones, it was like discovering a new world, a forgotten world. Just Happiness for us and paradoxically, this black hole was now a hole of light in this darkness.
