I GIVE UP

“Our costume designer, David C. Woolard, had the idea that my character, Riff Raff, was unfinished, physically. He was conceived as an incredibly sexual alien robot, so there were little holes in my costume. My nails were painted silver, and then the polish continued up my hands, so it looked like half my hand was metal. I had my navel pierced at the time, and I stuck a safety pin through it. Both of those things were probably a bad idea….

David  also gave me assless chaps as part of my costume, but I had to wear underwear with them. Sometimes I would do “naked” performances where I would go out there without the underwear and be like: Screw it, I’m making the audience see everything they’re supposed to see!  We also did one naked rehearsal…The whole cast rehearsed in their underwear, and I played the role of naked audience member who sat there and was offended. I was butt naked sitting there muttering…There’s a picture somewhere of me walking out of the house, naked, shaking my head….. “

The locations in tonight’s episode were stunning.
