Bohemian Rhapsody is not Rocketman.

Stylistically they actually have little in common. They just actually happen to be biopics about famous rockers and they share a director. You can like both, but don’t compare them.

Elton John had every right to make Rocketman as Rated R as he wanted. Why? BECAUSE HE’S HERE TO DO SO.

With Bohemian Rhapsody, Freddie is NOT here. Brian, Roger and yes even John (he’s still a part of Queen) have a legacy to protect (not to mention Freddie’s family). All of that was taken into consideration when making choices for the film.

The deaf and blind kid:

“Did you fully understand how strange and unique Freddie Mercury was when you first met him?”

“That’s a very easy question: immediately.”

Roger talks about meeting Freddie for the very first time.

“One Christmas, when Freddie and I were flatmates in Kensington, we were trying to cook Christmas dinner but all we had was a packet of bread sauce that you make with water. We used to dream of a can of beans.“
