The animation and visuals this season are phenomenal

Maybe someone already made a post and I missed it, idk, but I'm gonna voice my own thoughts on this scene anyway.

To me, this little scene in the new season 8 trailer hints at a drastic amount of character development. Rick is protecting Morty. Instead of using him as a shield or forcing him to fight, Rick portals him to (what better freakin be) a safe place.

In past seasons, Rick normally complains about Morty being in the way, especially when things go downhill, but here? He just immediately gets him out of a dangerous situation without any argument or cruel comments. It reminds me of that moment in Unmortricken where he strictly tells Morty not to come with him to kill his nemesis, and then he even got mad when Morty did show up. Perhaps we've finally gotten to witness a breakthrough. Maybe Rick really is healing and taking more responsibility for his family?

Just noticed how similar they look with Morty as an adult. Like grandfather, like grandson XD
