He does notice Sebastian, ok? But apparently Sebastian does not notice Kurt (which is totally cool - it’s not like ‘sophisticated’ and ‘elegant’ has ever been Sebastian’s type and surely he doesn’t expect to meet his old enemy from Lima, Ohio in New York City). 

They both love good coffee and bad coffee shops - in Ohio it was the Lima Bean; in NY it’s this terrible tiny place near Kurt’s apartment. It seems like Sebastian really likes their coffee but can’t stand the atmosphere because he never stays, just grabs his coffee and leaves. 

And maybe sometimes Kurt enjoys watching him - so what? He sits at his table in the corner unnoticed and shamelessly observes the other boy. Surrounded by his collegues he’s the same old insufferable Sebastian Smythe but sometimes, early in the morning, while he’s waiting in line for his coffee he looks… lonely. Or maybe just hungover and tired after night full of ‘20 minute relationships’.  

Kurt doesn’t need more mocking, bickering and childish insults in his life - he had enough of them in high school. That’s why he hasn’t approached Sebastian. It’s better this way. 

He’s so glad that Sebastian hasn’t noticed him yet.
