Cam: Are you sure? Why wouldn't I be?

Cam: You're just jealous. It's okay. We're getting the best things to eat along with the best coffee. It's cool to admit defeat.

Frankie: Why do you think I'm not fine all of a sudden? Honestly, I'm surprised you texted me.

Cam: Is everything alright? You've seemed... idk out of it lately?

Cam: But.... I heard that Dunkin Donuts might be bought over from Krispy Kreme and they're taking over the donuts side and Dunkin keeping the coffee.

Cam: Best of both worlds. Beats the hell out of Starbucks. BOOM!

Frankie: Yeah, everything's fine. I'm fine. Are you okay though?

Frankie: That sounds unpleasant. The only good thing is that they're keeping the doughnuts, but the coffee? I would not that. Then again, I never really ordered Krispy Kreme's coffee anyway.

Cam: Did you hear the rumor?

elena had arrived with her date but had subsequently gotten separated from her upon noticing the tables with drinks. she was getting herself another when she noticed frankie on the other side of the room. she watched her for a moment before taking a long sip from her drink and crossing the floor to the other girl. ❝hey – what’s up with you? you keep checkin’ your watch and you don’t exactly look… cheery.❞

elena was one of the few whom she was actually okay talking to about her emotions. when she felt like it anyway and she did want to talk about it, but she also didn’t want to bring her down. giving a shrug, she smiled with pursed lips before saying, ❝brennan’s just late, that’s all. i’m fine though. completely fine, in fact.❞ which was definitely a lie, but the brunette didn’t need to know that. ❝anyway, are you having fun so far?❞

brennan had the worst luck. he hadn’t planned on being out for longer than ten minutes but there he was, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. time went on and on and he became more and more late to the formal until finally he decided to throw caution to the wind and start weaving in and out of cars on his motorcycle. finally he arrived, tuxedo moderately disheveled from the wind but he’d fix himself later. all he was worried about was finding frankie. he scanned the crowd until finally he laid eyes on her, making his way over to her in an instant. “look, i can explain.” he began, clearing his throat. “there was an accident on the highway ‘n’ it was backed up as fuck ‘n’ i hadda break a million laws t’get here. i’m sorry.”

when she heard brennan's voice, the first thought that came to her mind was throwing her wine at him, but turning her body to him, she furrowed her eyebrows instead. she stayed silent and listened to what he had to say considering she was also going to ask what happened to him now that she's seen his appearance. after explaining himself, frankie believed him. deep down, she was upset it took him this long to arrive, while the other part of her was actually relieved to see his face. ❝i forgive you,❞ she stated, pursing her lips and placing her wine glass down. ❝but i still say you owe me and i don't mean sexually either.❞ moving her hands up to his hair, she attempted to make it look neat. it wasn’t the best job, but she tried. afterward, she also began to fix his tuxedo, wanting to avoid eye-contact for the moment. ❝i’m glad you’re here,❞ she mumbled, eyes continuing to stare at his attire as she showed a small smile.

bianca slid up to frankie, finishing off the rest of her vodka soda, “and more vodka for me.” she grinned at her. she tilted her head slightly, studying her, “so, are you going to tell me what’s wrong or am i going to have to guess? because you know i’ll play the guessing game and you know i’ll guess right eventually.” 

she smiled for a moment as she heard bianca and was glad to have her to keep her company. especially when frankie was feeling more down than usual. at least with bianca, she could voice her thoughts. as much as she hated talking about her feelings, the blonde was one of the very few she was okay with. ❝i’ll tell you,❞ she mumbled, eyes continuing to glance around as she watched everybody else dancing or talking among themselves. ❝my date’s nowhere to be seen and it’s been two hours already, so that sucks.❞
