one thing she loved about the holidays was getting to spend time with people she truly cared about. which was why even when she didnât celebrate hanukkah, she was still hyped up to spend time with eli and the fact that he wasnât going home, she did want to make him feel less lonely. especially after all the times he was there for her. when she entered the frat house, she stepped into the kitchen before sending him a text that she was inside already. she could have went up to his room, but went to the kitchen instead to lay out the food she ended up bringing. almost everything was basically from scratch. she made potato latkes, sufganiyot, and rugelach. the only thing that was bought at a store were the challah bread and chocolate gelt coins. aside from those, she also ended up making cookies. it might have been a bit too much since they were only two, but it was fun for her considering she got to try and make various recipes. the only thing that made her a bit nervous was what to wear, so she decided on a more semi-formal appearance. once all the plates were spread out on the dining table, she leaned against a kitchen counter and scrolled through her phone.
