main fandoms • project 863, life is strange, resident evil, until dawn, genloss

i hope we get along <3

i jumped into life is strange with little to no context about the game and who the characters were. and one of the first things i noticed was the romantic tension the two share. like personally i wouldn’t make out with my totally platonic bff in front of a tornado but maybe that’s just my experience with friendship. i also don’t understand the argument that max lead chloe into the tornado kiss when it’s clear that she leaned in. the majority of pricefield scenes were literally blatant flirting, the pool scene solidified this for me. not to mention the piles and piles of diary entries they have written about each other.

many people argue that pricefield is one-sided on max’s behalf but i have to disagree completely. chloe was always making jealous comments about warren and literally dared max to kiss her like hello. how platonic of them!!! the ending scene speaks for itself, bay or bae.

i’m not arguing she didn’t also have feelings for rachel of course she did but i think that her feelings for max are deeper and more developed due to them sharing a childhood. i personally believe amberprice is a trauma bond but that’s a whole other can of worms………. i understand if you prefer amberprice but saying that pricefield were strictly platonic i don’t understand at all.

what makes the most sense to me is that the manipulative and calculating traits he displays in 863 were always there, but the power that being an owner of an up and coming successful biotech company gave him an outlet for his inner feelings to truly come out.

he and wesley went to harvard together (i’m pretty sure it was just them i don’t think deb went?) and came off as very close - you don’t just offer to start a company with a random person. yet wesley always seemed to have a very positive view of him despite what he actually was like.

i believe that either nelson hid his personality well, or wesley looked at him with rose-coloured glasses. it took an awful long time for wes to actually believe deb about what his true intentions with syntec were even when deb said that nelson literally handed her a gun and told her to kill him.

in general he comes off as very pretentious and thinks of himself as the best person in the room even when he is actively losing like at the end of season 3. this behaviour could link back to him attending harvard, which probably enlarged his ego significantly tbh.

i feel like deb would wish the best for max and chloe but also be weary about her messing with time because she’s been there done that

deb also manipulated time to make sure nelson could be defeated by the 863 team….. rachel’s death being a catalyst oh my god

in the bay ending max would go to la alone and nelson would definitely use chloe’s death against her to aid him stop
