Dealing with well meaning white liberals is often exhausting because they are so convinced that they are in the right side of justice that they refuse to accept that there are some nuances to issues of race and poverty and sexism that they will never ever get. It’s exhausting because they will argue with a person who has had those lived experiences and insist that they are right, not realizing their stubbornness and refusal to listen to marginalized peoples is oppressive It’s like, your heart is in the right place Chad and Becky, but hush and listen sometimes
