(Spoiler warning)

Hello! So I know that I am really late to Welcome Home but it's my current obsession and I feel like dropping some ideas or theories here. I'm aware that I am definitely wrong but please be nice there's only so much lore I can take in in a month.

Frank and Julie don't like each other like that (Theory): Now, I am not opposed to them as a couple, and absolutely zero judgement for people that like them together. To be honest, I think they are sweet (even if I do tend to like Frank and Eddie more). However, the thing that confuses me about their relationship is the fact that Julie can't even remember (in full) how they met. And she always seemed closer with other neighbors until this update. While they still might be cannon, something feels off to me.

Did anyone else notice something off about W after the Joy Soda (Question): I think that's an easy yes, he went from being all doom and gloom to being almost manically happy, HOWEVER, I looked back at his other posts after reading the joy one to compare and there seemed to be something manic in those pre-joy posts. While less optimistic it almost seemed crazed in a way that the Joy soda didn't mitigate but possibly affected.

Wally isn't the bad guy, but he's not strictly the victim either (Theory): While I definitely think Wally is being possessed in some way, I don't necessarily believe, in full, that it was against his will. There's been a disturbing lack of Wally in the Spring update, so I do sense a shift in Wally's intentions recently. But the only thing that comes to mind when I think about possession is the image of Wally underneath the As Above So Below Window and the similarities in the coloration of Eddie's crash out. If Wally in some way, is related to/following home it stands to reason he might not fully be against "his god" inhabiting his body, at least not at first. I think this theory is similar to the Wally is possessed theory but makes some of his motives and pre-cannon art make more sense. I also believe this new update coming could disprove or reinforce this theory based on how the story progresses.

What was Eddie seeing in his crash out (Question): To me it seemed like there were times while Eddie was panicking that he was seeing a storage closet. Now this is interesting because I couldn't seem to fully stop the video enough to see the image but if the picture is of a supply closet there could be a deeper reason why Wally's Homewarming audio notes that he misses seeing everyone. If the puppets are trapped in closets away from each other and their consciousnesses are actively living in the story the flashes to the closet with props make sense. They're realizing where they actually are. This theory COULD also be used to explain the random noises poppy was hearing and the fear of being trapped somewhere. Idk, this felt like the most crack potted theory and I'll admit this one might be grasping at straws a bit.

Frank isn't supposed to be there (Half-theory): I don't know if I believe this theory however Frank is the only neighbor listed as having an ambiguous background. We don't know where he cam from and I think that's important because neither does Julie. And Frank also doesn't seem to fit in with quite a few of the neighbors. Sometimes he's fine but in those vignettes that were posted Frank was at odds with both Sally and Barnaby. I don't think he's evil, the bugs in the website leading to those vignettes proves that to me. That being said, I don't think he's strictly a puppet like the rest of them, or at least he's more aware than the rest. There's an image depicting him with human looking hands, his background is never expressly stated, he doesn't get along with several of the neighbors, and he's allegedly sending us short conversations to lead us to clues. He also (and this could mean nothing) is wearing the Hawthorn pin on his plush and hawthorn flowers are linked to the idea of protection and hope for new beginnings.

Anyways...

TRIGGER WARNING: Dally’s suicide

1. Saying that Ponyboy is bratty or over dramatic. First of all, he’s a freshman in high school. Mostly everyone I know was annoying as a freshman too. He JUST turned 14 in the book, so yeah some of the things he says are petty or rude, but he’s a child. Not only is he a child, but he’s established from the beginning as a character that feels things deeply, he contemplates things that he can’t really vocalize with a majority of the people around him. He has no parents, and he feels lonely after their death. I personally have siblings but if my parents died, especially at a young age, I’d feel lost and lonely too. Him having brothers doesn’t make the gravity of his parents death any less saddening.

2. People who watched the musical and said anything along the lines of “I don’t like that Dally committed Suicide”. Because he committed suicide in the book too. And it wasn’t like some secret that he did it, it wasn’t “heavily implied”. He wasn’t just lost and confused so he made trouble and was reckless. Because Dally was not unintelligent. He knew if he robbed the store, the cops would come after him. He knew that if he pointed the gun at the police, they’d shoot him. There was nothing accidental about his death, and to imply that is insulting the characters intelligence and minimizing his feelings. Assisted suicide is still suicide.

3. Anyone who demonizes Darry, wasn’t paying enough attention to what ever version of the Outsiders that were reading or watching. I mentioned earlier that I didn’t like how some people talk about Pony, but Darry also tends to get demonized by a lot of people. A lot of people think that you can’t like both Darry and Pony, but that’s not true. Darry was doing his best in his circumstance and always had Ponyboy and Soda at the top of his list of priorities.

4. People who write Dally in a way that glorifies his actions in life. I understand that everyone wants to think of the gang as these sweet little guys with an adorable found family. Hell, I love those fanfictions, but you can love a character and also understand that objectively they aren’t a good person. I love Dally, and I’m sympathetic to him because of his past, but I won’t justify the things he does. Dally does, and has done a lot of bad things in his life, and he has a lot of flaws. I’m not going to make excuses for him. I can be sympathetic to him, and also truthful about him.

5. I have seen some people talk about Randy’s redemption in a negative light. A lot of people saying it felt like too little too late. However, Randy having that redemption is so important because it emphasizes the similarities is the social classes. His arc also serves as a reminder that’s the docs were human too. He was an example of positive change within the series.

6. I understand if the outsiders isn’t your cup of tea, but just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it bad. I don’t like rom coms, but that’s not because they are bad, it’s because they are rom coms, I can’t sit through the genre. The outsiders is at its core a coming of age novel that still rings true for a lot of people today. So my last pet peeve is people saying it’s “it’s just a school assignment”. At its core it is an assignment but a lot of people see themselves in these characters and that’s something no one should feel bad about.

Just watched the Digimon 02 movie and I have a lot of feelings. I liked the movie as a whole, but it’s not too hard to impress me with a Digimon movie. I went to see the dub and I thought the cast was great! I have always been a big fan of the 02 characters (controversial opinion, I know). Takeru has always been my favorite character and I’m only a little bit ashamed to admit that I drove an hour and a half to see this movie because of him.

That being said was anyone a little confused about how the ending of this movie fits with the cannon of Kizuna. In that movie Tai and Matt lose their digimon when their digivices break. In the new movie all of the main cast lose their digivices but their digimon remain with them.

Over all I like the movie as a whole and I felt good walking out of the theater. I would recommend any digimon fan go see the movie.
