I am, yeah. I'm super excited about it, I loved watching the original show, so getting to be a part of the story now is so fun. I'm obviously playing an unpleasant person, and that's always a good time. I really enjoyed myself, yeah. Napa is so gorgeous, although because of the role I'm playing, had to lay off the wine this time around. Which just means I have an excuse to go back there sometime.

playing a villain, huh? all the more reason for me to catch up. is he worse than your character in abigail? because i hated that dude, which is really just a testament of how good of an actor you are. nothing better than a return trip to napa. you'll have to let me know how the second round goes whenever you get around to it.

no experience whatsoever so i'm praying by the time we start filming, the professionals worked their magic and i don't make a fool of myself. what about you? i know a couple of the heated rivalry guys had to do a lot of training before filming started, but was hockey something you did before the series or something you had to learn the basics of? either way, you looked like a natural on the ice.

i have a feeling that you and the professionals will be able to pull it off by then, but i'll make sure to keep my fingers crossed anyway. how long do you have before filming starts? oh no, i had to learn the basics. think i was the only canadian that didn't know how to ice skate so it was a learning process. just thankful that we had doubles every now and then.

Honestly, smart. If I ever get offered tickets to shows then I'm going to be taking them. I love live music so much. Going to concerts is probably one of my happy places. Simmer, huh? I've seen that it's been a pretty popular request so it might just make it to the set list. No, there's nothing with Paramore coming up anytime soon. We're just taking a little bit of a break. I might put out some music with my other band. I like to keep people on their toes.

yeah, man, it's incredible! sonny's an amazing leader on set, it's so clear that he puts so much heart and thought into every last detail. bobby, who did the music for the first season, wasn't able to come back for this second one, but finneas took over and i think he did an amazing job, too. ahh, honestly, it was a little intimidating coming in! especially with such a brilliant first season (just don't tell steven i said that) to live up to, but it was really an honor getting to work with such a brilliant cast and crew, you know? i'm proud of what we did and i'm going to miss it a lot.

sounds like a pretty solid crew to me. unfortunate that bobby couldn't come back but i'm sure finneas did just as good. i'll have to jump into the second season to see for myself. don't worry, my lips are sealed and steven will never know you just complimented his work. what are you working on now that you're done with beef?

i did and it was absolutely terrifying. i think i spent most of it floating in and out of consciousness, honestly, because i don't remember too much of it... but i had some very, very good company and that made it all worth it in the end. it was a once in a lifetime experience for sure, and i hope to keep it that way! i never plan on getting in one of those again, i'm more than happy to admire them floating up above from my safe space on the ground. the entire trip was so lovely, i never wanted it to end. did you have a nice time, as well? did you have work waiting for you back home?

suppose that's one way to make the trip memorable. hope you were able to balance that little adrenaline rush with some relaxation too. i had a great time! not a single complaint from me, honestly. i was actually on a bit of a break from work so i was able to extend the vacation into a staycation. what about you?

so glad to hear that, man. don't think there's anything more horrifying in the sports world than a career ending injury. yeah, that does make sense. i don't think i realized how violent hockey could get until i started doing a show centered around it and studying some of it. crazy shit.

Such a weird situation, having to room with someone you don't know at all! Yeah, it was this one guy that's genuinely nice, the little I got to know him that is. The thing is you mostly get to see each other in passing. I could've easily ended up paired with an ex since I think there was one around, so thank God that didn't happen. And you? Did you end up getting a good roommate situation too?

being paired with an ex sounds like both nightmare and fanfic material. glad you ended up in a pretty good situation. who was it that you were paired with? yeah, i got a pretty good situation too. i really only saw my roomie in passing and when we were both in the room. it was a quiet arrangement for us, which i figure is one of the better routes.

so far they've been giving a lot of love so it seems like they're happy i'm back in it. definitely will. until then, it'll just be the craziness of the show prep. loving it. bit upset with how quick it went but definitely was needed. what about you? do anything fun off the itinerary?

it's always a delight hearing when anyone's watched marrowbone when it's brought up so rarely these days. which i have to ask after that twist, are you okay, mate? do you need a hug? i wouldn't mind doing another horror film if the opportunity came up and i was into the role, sure! i want to do a little of everything, if i'm honest. like i last did a romantic comedy, which was a switch but a lot of fun. i nearly asked if you've done any horror films yourself, but i doubt anything could be scarier than yellowjackets.

It really sucks, but we made the most of both being in Napa together for a few days before having to part ways again. I'm working on the new season of Dexter: Resurrection, she's working on The Night Agent in LA. Booked and busy! Good, I'm glad, you deserve the rest! Did you have a good time on the trip?

this has been the longest we've spent apart in months and i pouted every night going to sleep without you! i spent so much of the trip outside, and i think i'm a lovely shade of burnt orange now but i have no regrets. even less regrets when i know we can lock ourself inside your cabin for the next week and not worry about the rest of the world interfering. i'm paying the etsy witch so she can guarantee us some sunshine. watching you sunbathing in the nude on the dock is on my bucket list btw. how's your weekend been, my love? gotten to do enough socializing to last you awhile? how was your roommate? did you two get along well?

look at that - we survived the weekend apart. it was fun, but let's never do that again. orange is better than red, i suppose. those etsy witches must've done some good because the weather has been amazing so far, even with the occasional bursts of rain. what do you think of the cabin so far? my weekend was great. very lowkey and lazy. got just enough socializing in that i can avoid the hermit title. admittedly, i didn't get to see my roommate too often but that's okay. a quiet roomie is much better than a chaotic one.
