I miss her. I loved Allura so much. I loved everything about who she was, what she represented for black and brown girls everywhere, for women like myself who never got to see someone like her as a child. She was proof we could be leaders, heroes and princesses. We could be strong, independent but also tender and beautiful and loved. I miss who she was and what she should have been. What they did to her character from start to finish was cruel. There’s no other word to describe it. It wasn’t progressive. It wasn’t groundbreaking. It wasn’t feminist. It was just cruel. I’m heartbroken.

every decision allura made caused her suffering. she was so strong even when she was hurting. all she wanted was to be with the paladins and go home. she gave her life up for the universe and we never saw the universe give back to her.

Allura deserved happiness. Her entire life was full of suffering, and she deserved a happy ending. But what did she get instead? She fucking D I E D, and I will never forgive Voltron for treating her like this. She deserves so much better than this bullshit excuse for a show.
