I’m deaf. But if I’m just reading a book on the train or something, and if you don’t see the one hearing aid I wear, you might not realize.

You also cannot see inside my neurological wiring to see that I have attention deficit disorder– which is one of the most common disabilities, at least for people below senior citizen age.

Same thing for people with learning disabilities, psycho social disabilities, and so on.

Even some mobility disabilities might not be immediately obvious. The person who might seem okay walking at a slow to moderate pace across a smooth, very flat surface might have a lot more trouble if they are forced to move faster, or if the surface is rough, uneven, or sloped too much, or if asked to navigate steps.

A person with a chronic health condition involving serious levels of fatigue might be completely wiped out by a single attempt to walk a few steps, to the point where they can’t move at all until a few hours or days of rest.
