Stanton Moor, near Bakewell, Derbyshire.
The Nine Ladies Stone Circle dates from the Bronze age and actually made up of ten stones (the tenth stone was discovered laying flat in 1977)
According to folklore,  the Nine Ladies were nine women who were turned to stone for the crime of dancing on The Sabbath!  The King Stone, which stands about 40m away, was said to be the fiddle they were dancing to,

On The Monsal Trail, Derbyshire.
A tip if you’re wanting to visit The Monsal trail, don’t make the mistake of going to the road called Wye Dale, which is about 30 miles away from the place called Wye Dale. If you should, however, you do go through some pretty villages on the way to where you intended to be.
