[4.5 centimeters], says the first of three text messages that interrupted Andrew’s morning coffee.

His first thought is… something outside the realm of words. His second is that Katelyn clearly wasn’t seeing an American doctor – “centimeters”. Four and a half of them. He absently Googles just how big that is. Just shy of one point eight inches.

That’s nothing. There are limes in their fridge – from Kevin’s last visit – that are bigger than that. He opens the fridge just to make sure. Yup. The three limes that fit in his palm are bigger.

In which Andrew didn’t choose Exy but still chose Neil, which meant Neil had to learn how to talk about something other than stick-ball.

Lucy had not anticipated what she was dealt. 

Her first day as a sophomore brought a tone of finality to it all: it wasn’t just a year-long dream of terrible decisions and alcohol and chaos. It continued on, and so would she. 

Her first day also happened to bring Professor Andrew Minyard, five feet and blond and utterly terrifying. 

Introducing the course had started off mundane enough, until Eddie Court – an asshole she’d regretted sleeping with dearly – decided to lean over her shoulder. He never got the chance to say anything, because a pencil dotted him squarely in his forehead, so hard that a tiny droplet of blood threatened to bead. 

Everyone stared. Shocked, confused, but remaining in complete silence as they  – Lucy included – tried to remember if anyone had mentioned anything about the man, whether or not this was normal or out-of-the-ordinary behaviour. 

“Name.” He sounded bored. 

Eddie rose his fingers to brush his forehead, smearing the tiniest of droplets. He stared at his fingertips, then at Minyard, then at the pencil that had clattered on his desk. Then at Minyard again. “Eddie Court.”

“Court. Christ.” The professor said, with a palpable distaste to his tone. “I will say this once, despite having to repeat it every year, because students seem to get thicker with every new class.” His face was blank. Stone. Lucy had never heard someone utter insults with such apathy. She didn’t know whether or not to be scared or curious: Such a mask was difficult to maintain. “Shut the fuck up, or get the fuck out. Understood?”

Swearing in class. At the students. Completely against protocol. 

Lucy couldn’t help but smile. Just a little. 

The next time Wymack’s doing shopping he buys a carton of half-and-half and he doesn’t even realize he’s done it until he gets back home.

Whenever I read this post I remember this scene from Lilo & Stitch. Andrew and Stitch are about the same size too. Also:

This is for the genderfluid people who don’t use genderfluid as a label because it’s too hard to explain.

This is for the genderfluid people who ignore that aspect of themselves because they don’t think they’re a “good representation” of genderfluidity.

This is for the genderfluid people who avoid telling their partners that they’re genderfluid.

Can you imagine how fucked up he is when he comes out of rehab? I mean, we know the first thing he does is upend his bag over a dumpster. Those were his own clothes and he doesn’t want to see any of them ever again. And who could blame him? He has perfect memory and every time he sees one of them it’s a memory.

But think about this. He gets out of rehab. He doesn’t even try to acknowledge any of them. He drowns at Nicky when he tries to talk. He just drives until their back on campus.

Neil moves passed him, to reach into the car for his binder, and /Andrew moves closer./ “There was nowhere for Neil to stand except against Andrew” it says. Andrew /deliberately/ moved that close to him. Then, THEN, it says “At length Andrew took a step back”. AT LENGTH.

We know Neil was waxing poetic about how strong Andrew was and what a relief it was to have him back to lean on and all that. Do you think this was it?? The moment Andrew realizes /this is real/?

And then think about what a stab in the gut it must of been when they’re on that rooftop after and Neil tells him he was at Evermore, and Andrew realizes what must be behind that bandage on his cheek. And that first moment when he sees that “4” and thinks he trusted the wrong person? Trusted them with /Kevin/?

BUT then- BUT THEN! To find out the truth, about what Neil went through, and that Neil did it for him?? How much that must have messed him up?? In one day going from Proust’s, metaphorical and literal, clutches to /Neil/? Who was already real in all the ways he can’t deal with right then, and to find out he did all that for /Andrew/?

And we know Andrew immediately gets upset about it. He immediately tells Neil he never should have done that, that Andrew didn’t want it. He can’t hear “Neil would was willing to do this for you because you’re worthy of that”. He just hears “Neil got hurt because of you.” He tells him to never to do it again, to let Andrew alone do the protecting.

But Neil, easy and undemanding and /impossible/ because of it, just says “If it means losing you, then no.”

And you know what I think? I think that’s the moment the world tilted a little bit sideways for Andrew. And with everything he was already dealing with, everything Neil had already thrown at him, and with him already struggling to find his footing again after everything that had happened?

Okay we’re going through this bit by bit.

Once you get in, you see that Trump’s inauguration takes up the entire main page. You know what? I’m fine with that. I mean it makes sense.

What I’m not fine with is this:

As of yesterday (I’m on the Wayback Machine), these are the issues that the Obama Administration listed, leading to pages which went into detail about these issues and what the Administration was doing about them.

Again, that’s from the Obama Administration.

This is the current Issues Tab under the Trump Administration:

No, I haven’t cropped it. That’s it. That’s the entire list. All of those are the issues that Trump’s Administration cares about.

The civil rights page? Gone. Climate change page? Gone. Health care page? Gone. Disabilities page? Gone. It’s all gone. Everything is gone.

They also completely took away all of the pages on Obama’s initiatives, all of the pages on internships and involvement in the White house, all of the pages on different ways to protest (other than the We The People petitions), and for some reason, they even took out most of the pages in the history section. The famous virtual tour? Gone. A detailed history about the architecture, the decor, even theee customs and traditions? Gone.

 But here’s the best part.

Most of the ‘Briefing’ section has been cleaned out as well and the tab for weekly addresses has been completely removed.

Notice how, even though the website changed overnight, he still put in a huge list of issues including virtually every one listed on the website yesterday?

But wait, there’s more.

I went back and looked at how Bush’s page looked before the Obama Administration changed it. And guess what? Bush had an entire list of issues that resembled the ones listed on the website yesterday.

Back when the Internet was new and the webpage was just a bunch of text, Clinton had an entire list of issues like the ones listed on the website yesterday.

So, no, this isn’t something that always happens. The website changes but the issues have always stayed the same and they’ve always been prominently displayed.
