THANK YOU to all the folks who worked behind the scenes to make this amazing Fest such a fun experience. I had a blast both posting and reading all of the recommendations. I added *so many good fics to my TBR list. Wishing everyone who took part a happy, healthy 2025 full of good reading.

Gravida by Neilistic

I just discovered Neilistic (through this Rec Fest! ) and absolutely love this Drinny Fic. It's funny, sexy, and fabulously written. The dialogue and details are all so, so good. Ginny and Draco unexpectedly find themselves parents-to-be.

Check out this fic if you like rivals to lovers, witty snark, and sparks between the main characters. The supporting cast is also really well written, providing both advice and humor. An overall great read with some soft, touching moments.

Flying Wild by Ink_and_Cider

Oh-mah-word, this fic is AMAZING. It's a WIP and I'm riveted by the great writing, strong emotions, and well-drawn characters. This is the fiercest and most relatable Ginny Weasley I've ever read. Her chemistry with Draco Malfoy is near explosive.

There are two time periods in this fic and both are stunningly well done: Hogwarts during the War/under the Carrows and then 10 years later within the proffesional Quidditch league. Draco and Ginny have *history. It's riddled with emotional landmines. I can't wait to see where Ink_and_Cider takes these two. This is another fic that's made me adore a Drinny pairing.

I *adore a good Dreomione fic. These excerpts from just the summary alone are full of good stuff:

A five-year relationship between Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy ends in heartbreak after Draco's engagement to Astoria Greengrass hits the news. Hermione flees to France.

Fifteen years later, there is an attack by a group of Dark Wizards in Paris while squib Scorpius Malfoy is there vacationing with his mother. He is saved from a stray spell by Lyra Granger, a girl with wild white curls who looks eerily like him. Upon being taken into protective custody by the French Aurors, the two teens await their parents. When Scorpius's father and his husband, Theo Nott, arrive they are shocked to see Hermione picking up her daughter.

I'm very curious about the final plot direction in the complete fic.

I discovered Drinny as a pairing earlier this year, and idreamofdraco's writing within this fantastic fic has affirmed my appreciation for this rare pair. Also, I do like the fake dating plot in fanfic. Mind the tags and notes for any possible triggers.

When a case of workplace sexual harassment leaves Ginny in a truly desperate state, the natural thing to do is to convince Draco Malfoy to pretend to be her boyfriend. Naturally.

This story has got so much going for it: well crafted characters, humor, growing attraction, trust, and affection... The Dating Charade hits all the right notes.

The Mark of a Good Man by bixgirl

Draco/Albus

This fic is steamy, and the chemistry off the charts.

After the life Draco Malfoy has lived, there aren’t many things capable of rendering him completely speechless, and he’s pleased to discover that even Albus Potter — writhing naked under the sheet of Draco’s bed and gasping face-down into Draco’s pillow — isn’t an exception to the rule.  

Draco's never claimed to be a good man.

Even if this pairing isn't your typical jam, bixgirl's writing will convert you.

A Pinch of Atlantis Clay by Aneiria

This is a great fic focused on what becomes a triad relationship between Draco and Theo (established during their Hogwarts years) and Hermione. She's a lycanthropy expert. I won't spoil the werewolf origin story here - please read it for yourself. How does Aneiria write so much rich detail into less than five thousand words?

Must be magic. 🐺

Draco Malfoy has a problem, and there is only one person who can help: of course it had to be Hermione Granger.

An Inconvenient Flutter by niffizzle

I find this fic swoon worthy. Draco and Hermione both work at the Ministry, and she issues an impulsive invitation to Christmas dinner. She thinks he's haaaa-ndsome in his Auror uniform. They have a spark, but Hermione considers it to be complicated...

This fic has fun Christmas details and depth to both the characters and their life circumstances. There's also a bit of a sweet twist at the end. This is such a good holiday read.

This is a delightfully complex post-war fic centered on the 8th year friendship+ between Hermione, Draco, and Theo. She bumps into Theo while on holiday in the south of France before they return to Hogwarts, and a seed is planted.

This fic has... complicated relationships. Theo and Draco have a rocky romantic past. Hermione and Ron are together-ish and dysfunctional. There is DRAMA. I really like it, but detest Ron.

This fic has a big heart. (And a sequel.) Everyone is dealing with war trauma. Since the relationships are a bit unhealthy, mind the tags for anything that could be a hard "no" for some readers.

Wow. I have zero HP crossover fics. So... I'll recommend two AUs today to make sure that you get the most bang for your buck within this post.

Ms. Whiskers Makes a Match {Dramione} by RoseHarperMaxwell has a surprisingly low hit count, IMO. This is a wonderfully sweet, Non-magical AU complete with a meet-cute (in a pet store) and an adorable romance. The writing is just right and strikes a perfect balance between touching and realistic.

In the Ocean We'll Be Born Anew {Drarry)} by AWickedMemory (TeddyLaCroix) is also a heart-melting romance. Draco dropped off of the radar after the war, only for Harry to find him while on holiday in Italy. Their (re)meet-cute (in a Muggle art store) throws a big monkey wrench into Draco's very established daily routine. Their flirting is endearingly awkward at first, but all works out for the best.

Dramione, AU Non-Magical

I rarely read Non Magical AU HP fics, but I'm so glad that AdAsttra's series piqued my interest. I love this cluster of fics, where Hermione and Draco begin as rivals in culinary school. The dialogue is as sharp as their knives, and the personal chemistry is off the charts. They're both sexy and smart and make a great couple.

We all love the wizards and witches of traditional HP fic, but the Tiramisu series has a magic of its own. Give this a read, I think you'll really enjoy food-centric Dramione.

This is a powerful fic, moving and poignant in a quiet, subtle way. The writing is excellent and is both hopeful and a bit melancholy. The tags share from the beginning that Draco is a vampire and Harry is the Master of Death. The overall mood here is... contemplative. What does time mean to you when you're living alongside it rather than within it? This fic is beautiful, deep, a bit haunting. Well worth the read.

This engaging read/fab art combo has a supernatural element, focusing on a do-over/second chance at love. The well-crafted details make for a fic that's just fascinating. Draco, our narrator, grows up a bit and learns to appreciate missed chances and some things he's taken for granted.

You'll enjoy this collaboration if you love a fiesty Hermione + a Draco redemption arc, an illustration that will melt your heart, and a sweet AU with extra magical touches.

This Drinny fic is set at Hogwarts, where they both work. (Draco's job may surprise you.) There are mutiple levels funny going on here, from a secret journal to a mini conspiracy between faculty members.

Draco and Ginny don't like each other... or do they? Minerva gives them a talking to to remember, with portrait Snape and Dumbledore observing it all.

All the Ways We Meet Again by Ink_and_Cider

This fic is exquisite, beautifully written. At the end of the last chapter, I was left a bit speechless with *emotions for Dramione and their friends. While sad, I'm so glad that I read this sweet love story. Sometimes the life we live isn't the life we planned or hoped for. But happiness and love can catch us by surprise.

Read this because all of the characters are vivid and lifelike, and the writing/overall impact nuanced and finely crafted. As may be the case for many fics recc'd in this category, note that tags include MCD.
