The adults in this reboot of the franchise are FULLY accountable for choosing to do this show and accepting a pay cheque over supporting a minority group. Even if they claim they support trans rights, they’re cowards and don’t actually support them at all.
The kids do NOT deserve abuse or hate, whether it’s because you’re comparing them to Dan/Rupert/Emma or because you’re boycotting due to the author’s views. They are literal CHILDREN.
Your nostalgia over a children’s series about kids going to school is NOT more important than trans people being respected and having rights. As long as JKR is still alive, she profits off of this.
And, just so you know, JKR profiting off of HP has DIRECTLY led to the disintegration of trans rights in the UK.

From yestersday. This follows on from the UK supreme court ruling last year that equalities laws would be based on 'biological sex only.'
That supreme court ruling got through, not because 'everyone believes in it.' But because JKR directly payed MASSIVE amounts of money into right wing thinktanks, politicians, and TERF influencers.
Harry Potter directly funds transphobia and anti-trans laws in the UK.
She pours her money into the J.K Rowling women's fund. Meaning Harry Potter revenue directly pays for right wing transphobic pearl clutchers to take trans people to court and to stamp out the rights of trans people in the UK.
It is also hurting cis women in the UK because now we're all fucking paranoid about being 'transvestigated,' being abused in public (for 'not looking cis enough') or being denied services because some snotty billionaire decided she gets to decide who is or is not a 'woman' (based entirely on her weirdo, white, billionaire-class definition of the word.)

How to Write When You Don't Feel Like Yourself
There are going to be days (or weeks, or months) where you sit down to write and feel... disconnected. From your voice, from your characters, from your ideas. Like the person who used to write your stories just packed up and left.
They didn't. They're just tired. Here's how to keep writing anyway:
Lower the bar (Until it's on the floor) You are not here to write something brilliant. You are here to write something. A paragraph. A sentence. A single line of dialogue. Movement matters way more than quality.
Write around the story Don't force it. If you can't write the scene, try: ⋆ A character ramble / journal entry ⋆ A conversation that won't be included in the final draft ⋆ A list of things the character would never admit out loud ⋆ A messy summary of what should happen Engage with the story from a different angle.
Borrow a voice until yours comes back No, not with AI. Read something that feels close to what you want to write, or watch a scene that captures the tone, then write immediately after. Not to copy, to reignite your instincts.
Write the emotion, not the plot. What is your character feeling in this moment? What are they afraid of? What do they want but won't say? What's being kept from them? The emotion leads, the plot catches up later.
Stop trying to "feel like a writer" first. You don't write when you feel like a writer. You feel like a writer because you write.
You are still a writer, even on the days it feels distant. Especially then.

Everyone who lives there wants to escape, but it mutilates you, learning to live there prepares you to live nowhere else on earth. It's a place where ambition goes to die. The casinos are all laid out to draw feet into their gravity, implosive forces on a tremendous scale. Twisting the orbits of daily life like an occult star. You walk into a convenience store, a laundromat, a pharmacy, and there's always someone there up front, by the slot machine, just gambling everything away. Usually smoking, often retired. They'll run out of money and just sit there for a while, not looking at anything. Every day feels like poison in the bloodstream, blackout curtains drawn against the oppressive light of the sun, wall AC caked with frost, dark all the time. Light is for outside. The lights outside are so bright you could walk onto the street with a book at midnight and keep on reading. Keeps killing birds, knocking them out of the sky. They used to detonate nuclear weapons under the earth, keeping their eye sharp for the end of days. They used to set them off above ground, too, and I imagine those people at the up-front slots, dead eyes catching distant reflections of hydrogen bombs, not even paying attention - pulling the arm, pressing the button, winning big, and going back to the busy work of losing everything

i keep a small deck of cards hidden on my person at all times so that in the event someone attempts to rob me i can quickly gamble myself into destitution before they take my money
with tumblr often glitching and unfollowing people on accident, reblog this if it is okay for (former) mutuals to message you if they notice you suddenly unfollowed them out of nowhere, asking if it was a mistake — granted if it wasn't, the person remains respectful of your decision and leaves it at that once they get an answer.
everyone can reblog this, but i figure this is especially good for those of us who use the (soft) blocking feature if we decide to unfollow someone instead of just unfollowing. this way, we can be alerted if tumblr has unfollowed a friend of ours without us noticing, as well as the other mutual not having to have anxiety about you suddenly hating them or worrying that you'll get upset for them asking if it was a mistake or not.
this, of course, does not mean that you are okay with people pushing to continue conversations with you if you say you unfollowed them. let's all be adults here.

Did a piece for my birthday and Artair's as is my tradition, and I decided to play around with animating even though I've pretty much never done it. I had a lot of fun! They're relaxing in their garden/greenhouse patio while it rains and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere with a book ^^

His little ear twitch mimicking the leaves, his strand of hair his fingers and his breathing, the rain in the background, the flicker of the book pages, the sway of the bleeding heart blossoms, even the droplets on the fern...those details all feel very smooth and natural. I love the little fern hugging his arm. I would say you've outdone yourself but I only feel you'll continue to surprise us and surpass yourself! Amazing art. Your hard work and dedication shows))

((Again something I had to really think on for a bit, quite frankly being proud of myself isn't something I often experience *shrug* I think I'll say the last moment I felt proud was pretty simple: I got through several loads of laundry, washed and folded instead of piled up on top of my washer/dryer or overflowing in the hamper fglklk. Little quiet things to be proud of accomplishing are to me as important as the big things <3))

((*banjos playing in the distance* I joke I joke. I live in a very rural area and it really depends on the time and what season it is. My sis in law has farm animals so you'd probably hear goats, chickens and ducks on a regular basis. In spring and summer you might hear tractors or large farm machinery working out in the fields, cicadas yelling in the trees and my absolute favorite little guys, spring peepers yelling from ditches. Native birds of all kinds <3 On blustery days you might hear wind blowing through the pines. There's a rifle range not too far so also gunshots on occasion. It's a nice balance of nature and people.
There also is SOME kind of critter I hear a lot of when it's not winter and I have yet to figure out what it is but it makes a lonely sounding call like " eh-WAULL eh-WAULL eh-WAULL " I think it's some sort of native bird? but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is lol.))
