i think one of if not THE craziest beliefs to be bred from this site is the absolute refusal to believe that slurs are a concept that exist. the "queer isn't a slur" shit was bad enough but now i constantly see people saying "if you tag my posts as 'd slur' i'm blocking you" or "my identity isn't a trigger warning" in reference to the f slur and it's like wow... i hope one day u step outside and get your teeth bashed in for calling a lesbian a dyke

i really wish i could stay on this website but honestly the stress it brings me is unreal. the algorithm is fucked and the more people i block the more tumblr recommends me people like them. it's impossible to exist on this website, or any social media, really, without being hit by the most shit political/discourse takes i've ever seen in my life back to back to fucking back that piss me off so bad like it's engineered to create a loop of anger. i just want to reblog pretty pictures and analyze my favorite shows with people but it's all so much. i might quit for real this time i'm having a harder and harder time finding people and spaces this site is worth staying on for.

"listen to minority voices" is good advice, great advice, even. but anyone following this advice has to realize that oppressed groups are not hiveminds and that eventually you WILL see two people from the same group disagree on something that affects them both and you will have to learn how to form your own opinion
