Wut?
"One cable would talk to the keyboard, Bhatt recalls, while another would connect a modem. A different cable enabled printing, with another linking the hard drive to the monitor."
Was there a point in computer history where the hard drive was connected to the monitor? Um, no; no there was not.

Fuck Online Games
I think it is about time to give up on online games completely. I am tired of sitting down to play a game, and I don't have much time in which I can, and it is offline. Being "fixed" (made worse) or updated or some other stupid excuse.
I want games that reside completely on my computer, and that the creator can't just change at will. I want it to be available to play when I want to play it, not when the company that made it can be bothered to make their servers work.
While the new Sim City is an excellent illustration of how terrible online games can be, there are many others that fit the bill. DC Online has already completely alienated me as a result of its constant issues and downtime. Now Planetside2 is doing the same, another Sony game I might add.
What is it Sony? What is so difficult about keeping the servers on? If you really have to "fix" your code every week why not have 2 servers for every area. You can update the backup then switch them over. Sure it costs a bit more, but you get to keep your customers.
If you are going to take the servers down every few days, hey - why not get people on the same schedule as the customers it effects to do it? You know, in the early morning customers time. For Europe that means not EST, not PST, but CET. Not that difficult is it? If you can't afford a set of engineers for each continent then you have no business making games, or indeed much of anything.
Anyway, in short: screw you Sony. If you can't be bothered to make your game available 24/7 then I can't be bothered to pay you for it.
