Two Timelines, One life

"You’re alive, aren’t you? That’s help enough. I nearly lost you one day and I don’t intend to lose you again…" He held her close. "Shhh. It’s okay. And of course I do.. I always have.."

"…it is…?" she asked. She tried to fight back a yawn, but she really was tired. She looked back up at Fai. "…I’m… sleepy…" she mumbled. "And… I…. just…" she took a breath and buried her head against his waist again. "…I just…" she closed her eyes. "…thank…you…"

"You're welcome. Now rest up.. I swear I'll protect you.. no matter what.."

A burden? Trouble? “..But you’re none of those. By just being here, you help me more than you can imagine. I nearly lost you once and I don’t want to lose you again.. It pains me a lot.. but there’s nothing I can do about it…. I.. I don’t want to lose you..”

"…I…" she finally looked up at him. She just felt so tired right now. Tears were still streaming down her eyes and she reached up and rubbed at her eyes. "…I’ve… helped you? How? What could I have done?" she mumbled. "I just… Fai… I feel… I feel sick…" she finally said. "I’m scared…" she wrapped her arms around his waist. "…you want me here?"

"….Because you’re my sister. You don’t just cause pain. You’re a child… you’re too young to have the weight of the world on your shoulders and you try to do everything yourself… I get you want to be self-sufficient.. But I don’t want you carrying a burden that could be lighter if you’d let me help…"

"…" she just buried her head against his waist, tears falling down her cheeks. She couldn’t stop crying. "…ngh…" she whimpered. "…just… I just don’t wanna be a burden to anyone anymore…" she mumbled. "I just… wanna be able to help you, too… I’m… so sick of being nothing but trouble for everyone…" she whimpered. "I….I’m…. sorry…." 

A burden? Trouble? "..But you're none of those. By just being here, you help me more than you can imagine. I nearly lost you once and I don't want to lose you again.. It pains me a lot.. but there's nothing I can do about it.... I.. I don't want to lose you.."

"…I can see the way you’re wiping your eyes. You can’t hide it from me.." He murmured as he ruffled her hair and kept her in his hold. "..I swear I’ll kick their asses. Tell me who made you cry.."

She just let him hold her. She seriously was just tired and didn’t have the energy to fight anymore. “…no one made me cry…” she mumbled. She couldn’t bring herself to look at him, though. “I… just… Fai…? Why… why do you even care about me? I just… all I cause is pain…”

"....Because you're my sister. You don't just cause pain. You're a child... you're too young to have the weight of the world on your shoulders and you try to do everything yourself... "Whose ass do I need to kick, then? No one makes my sister cry." He knelt down and pulled her into a hug. "I’ll kick their asses and make them pay."

She just quickly tried to rub the tears from her eyes, but it wasn’t working. Instead, she just looked away. She didn’t want him to see her cry. She didn’t want him thinking something was wrong. Though, she really was surprised he pulled her into a hug. “F-fai…” she blurted out. “I-I’m fine! There’s nothing to worry about… I’m just tired…”

"...I can see the way you're wiping your eyes. You can't hide it from me.." He murmured as he ruffled her hair and kept her in his hold. "..I swear I'll kick their asses. Tell me who made you cry.."

"…Are you lying?"

"What? No. Of course not. Why would I lie?" She could feel her eyes tearing up. She quickly rubbed them, trying to keep from crying.

"Whose ass do I need to kick, then? No one makes my sister cry." He knelt down and pulled her into a hug. "I'll kick their asses and make them pay."

"….Are you sure? You don’t look tired.."

"…yeah. I’m just…" she paused. "…sleepy. I guess…" she sighed. "Something. Nothing to be really worried about though…"

"...Are you lying?"

”..Airey, are you all right?”

"…yeah… I’m…fine, I guess… just tired."

"....Are you sure? You don't look tired.."

"…"

"..Airey, are you all right?"

He blinked. So.. so he didn’t know? “..That’s food.. Here, let me help you, though.” Without a second thought as to what it might look like, Fai tugged up the other’s shirt. “Do you know your name, at least?”

"I don’t know what a name is… I don’t really know anything…"

He had to think for a moment. "..We'll call you Snow, then." He said before tugging the shirt off and making a few gestures. "Raise your arms up. It'll be easier to get the shirt on this way."

"Here.. You know how to change into these, right?"

Then his head turned to the food as he stared at it too, trying to figure out what that was as well. “…What is that?”

He blinked. So.. so he didn't know? "..That's food.. Here, let me help you, though." Without a second thought as to what it might look like, Fai tugged up the other's shirt. "Do you know your name, at least?"

Turning away, he walked to the door and it opened automatically. “Ange, they’re in here. I’m going to go get them some new clothes and stuff. Could you ask Rock to make something real quick?” He asked as he stepped out of the room and the door shut behind him.

Eyes blinking as he stared at nothing and then at the floor as just watched water dripped from his his hair.

"Here.. You know how to change into these, right?"

"It’s all right now. You’re safe.. We’ll get you some dry clothes and some food. How does that sound?"

"Um…" Before he could even say anymore, his stomach growled and made him a little embarrassed.

Turning away, he walked to the door and it opened automatically. "Ange, they're in here. I'm going to go get them some new clothes and stuff. Could you ask Rock to make something real quick?" He asked as he stepped out of the room and the door shut behind him.
