For our accommodation we booked an overnight stay at one of the houses for rent in Monte Vista subdivision, Tagaytay City via Airbnb. There are 5 rooms available for rent for this particular property.

Main Entrance (Parking on the right side)

We booked the one called El Atico which is the nearest from the entrance of the property.  It is divided into 3 rooms: dining/living room, bathroom and loft bedroom and can accommodate up to 6 people. There’s no kitchen where you can actually cook inside the room but there is a microwave oven and water heater  just below the stairs going to the bedroom. There are also no breakfast provided but they have a complimentary coffee and fruits. Should guests need to cook , they can use the grill at the outdoor common area.

The Dining/Living room

Once you enter the room you’ll immediately see the living area, which contains the sofa bed, a flat screen TV, book shelf, board games and a family computer.

Just right beside it is the dining area . Their complimentary fruits is beautifully placed at the top of the dining table.

The bathroom

We were surprised at how spacious the bathroom was, not to mention it is also very clean (the whole room looks very clean). They have a shower area, a sink with big mirror in front and a toilet seat with bidet. Towels and toiletries are also provided except for toothpaste and body lotion.

The Bedroom

The bedroom is located at the loft which can fit up to 5 people. There are no beds just mattresses but they are thicker than the usual and are all very comfortable to sleep in. They provide pillows and comforters which are so cozy and perfect for a good night sleep .

Right after we checked out at 12 noon, the care taker, Ate Janet, was gracious enough to tour us around the property and show the other 3 rooms available for rent.

Tres Hermanos

I think this room, looks very similar to El Atico except they don’t have a loft type bedroom.  It has 1 Bedroom  with 2 single beds, 1 bathroom and a living room. Can accommodate up to 4 people.

This room looks more old fashioned compared to the other two rooms I mentioned.  I loved the rocking chair and the swing inside. IT has 1 bedroom which is also the living/dining area and 1 Bedroom.  Can fit up to 5 people.

This room is perfect for a small family. It has also one bedroom with 5 beds and 1 pull out, 1 bathroom. the room looks old fashioned as well similar to El Jardin. What sets this apart from the other rooms is it has two gazebos and a barbecue grill outside the room exclusively for it’s guest.

We weren’t able to see the fifth room because the guests are still inside but according to Ate Janet it’s good for 2 people.

We had such a very nice experience staying at their place. It’s far from all the noise of the city but very accessible. It is also just a few minutes away from other well known restaurants and cafes in Tagaytay like Bag of beans, Mcdonal’s, Starbucks and Dreamland Arts and Crafts Cafe . The rooms are all clean and looks very well maintained. Their staffs are easy to talk to and welcoming as well.

I definitely recommend this place for those who are looking for a nice and cozy but budget friendly place to stay in Tagaytay.

I got my inspiration for making this project from an instagram post I stumbled upon a couple of weeks ago. I was so happy with how it turned out! Its simple and easy too.

Here’s how I made it…

Materials used:

Oversized trousers (almost twice my actual size)

Thread matching the color of the pants

Pins

Sewing machine

Seam ripper

fabric chalk for marking

Ruler/tape measure

Steps:

Use of a seam ripper to detach the waistband from the pants. Make sure to not poke the fabric while ripping the stitches.

Make a new stitch on the sides and/or at the back of the pants to adjust the waist size. Do this on the waistband as well.

Sew the waist band back to the pants, making sure to follow where the original stitch was for a cleaner look.

Cut the pant legs according to your decided length. To prevent the fabric from unraveling, fold twice, use a serger or  sew zigzag stitch on the very edge of the hem.

Hem the bottom by ironing a 1 inch fold on both pant legs then sew around.

What it is : No sebum powder, contains 80% mineral that makes skin look clear and matte without clumps.

How to apply: After applying basic skincare products or makeup, gently apply on areas with excessive sebum in a tapping motion.

Caution: 

1. Use only as directed.

2. Avoid storing in high/low temperatures or in areas exposed to direct sunlight.

3. Stop using if it causes any allergic reaction or any problems arising.

What I like about this powder:

Made my skin look flawless for hours.

Doesn’t look powdery on the face.

Doesn’t change the color of my face after application.

Made my face look fresh through out the day even as the oils started to build up

Doesn’t cake up on my face even if applied generously

Has a very fine powder particles that is soft to touch.

This, so far, is the only mattifying powder that actually worked for me out of several ones I’ve tried. I’ve used rimmel, essence and nichido, all of which failed at keeping my face shine free.

What I didn’t like:

It has a very strong scent. Although it smells good it’s lemony scent makes me cough each time I’m using it.

Can be messy because of its very fine particles and has tendency to go all over the place during application (especially if brush is used)

A bit pricey considering the amount of powder it contains.

Recommendation for application:

Using a damp sponge  is my favorite way of applying the product especially for baking as I find that it helps in putting more powder on the face and prevent the powder from going all over the place. For the times that I just want to dust a bit of powder on my face, using it’s own puff also works surprisingly well. I suggest you don’t use a brush for application as it tends to disperse the powder everywhere leaving no powder left on the brush to be applied on the face.

Over all verdict:

I really love this powder. From the first moment I put it on my face I knew I’m going to use this for a long time. This is definitely a must try for everyone especially those who whave oily skin like me.
