Creatives can sometimes be bombarded with ideas, especially when creating an original story.

Things you can use to create structure when planning out your story:

Synopsis vs Blurb What is the difference between a synopsis and a blurb? If you are an author, it is important to have a clear distinction between the two, especially if you want to start publishing your story.

In short, the synopsis contains spoilers and is intended for publishers, editors, and agents. The main purpose is to prove that you know how to structure your story. So, before writing one, make sure your story structure is well planned out.

A blurb, on the other hand, contains no spoilers and is intended for consumers looking to read a book. The main purpose is to intrigue the reader. For example, it's what you read on the back of a book.

How to be more organised when plotting a story?

You shouldn’t feel that “ugh” feeling when you’re about to plan and organise your lore, or when trying to recall your secondary characters’ details.

Having everything in one place, labelled and linked together, is the smart way to go.Seeing everything in one place increases clarity, which in turn builds confidence. Help yourself set up a system that will help you prevent overwhelm in the future.
