I should hate you...but I don't.

" I guess. Ya seem to be right. " She tightened her hold on Adilyn not wanting to drop her while fighting her hunger. It was so tempting to just throw the petite brunette against the wall and feed. Taking a deep breath she let it out through her nose. Once at Violet’s room, the  vampire set the half-fae down. " Here ya go. I’ll be outside, so holler if ya need anything."

She looked at her human and shook her head at the thought. Adilyn was her own person, not in any way hers. ” I can piggy back ya to your home. That way you can get back to your family.” The red head chuckled before looking at her. ” He’s more relieved that you’re okay. Ya sure you’re not hurt?” It was hard to contain her protective side as she eyed her.

Tara did know. She often had felt helpless as well, she had her strength, but she had grown up and didn’t take help from people easily. She was the one to offer it, but she hadn’t been able to get her own mother from the booze for a long time and it took a con to be able to get it out with her fake exorcism. She wasn’t strong as she thought she was when it came to fighting certain people. Her mind was strong, to help her survive, but her body was weaker to help her get out of the situations she was in. For a long time. Till now, things were going to be different from now on, she wanted this to be her second chance and live a life she wanted. “I get it, I do.”

The thing about Bill Adilyn quickly brushed off because she didn't know him all that well before he had gotten his Hep-V and met his True Death. Actually, she was pretty sure she had only met him one time. Yeah, so she couldn't say much about Bill. That new guy Sookie was with was real nice though. He was new to town and everything. There were actually kinda lots of new people in town. The Hep-V vamp attacks, and the towns people deciding to take justice into their own hands had resulted in a lot of freed up real estate.

"True, but ya’ll learn. I’m sure yer father, Sook ‘n Jess will do them best ta help ya. They are protective ‘n might suck at times, but.. don’t fight it, yeah? Rebellin.. only gets ya so far. Acceptin help.. it’s brave thang to do. It ain’t easy, but.. don’t mean yer helpless or vulnerable, just sometimes we need help. So take it." Tara advised the younger woman. "I can imagine.. so.. do thangs ya would wanna do now.. no need ta grow up so fast, just cause yer agin like that. Enjoy life.. it’s short, I know."

Tara chuckled as she saw her blush. “It’s perfectly normal. Vampire blood has that effect, nothin ta feel ashamed bout. I had them too ‘n.. in ma situation it was.. disgustin.. tha vampire I had it from, he hurt me. But it’s how it is.. it ends when it finally gets outta yer system.” She nodded in agreement. “He can be.. he just needs ta show it more. I mean, I once tried ta tell him somethang ‘n he thought I was drunk.. I kinda was, but not that drunk, ya know. He finally believed me, it was almost too late. So.. he just needs to act more, but I get it. He thinks he has this.. standard ta follow up on, but he should be himself..”

Adilyn listened and nodded. Yeah, the last wave of rebellion had nearly gotten her killed by Violet so rebellion was bad. One of the good things to come from that--well good was debatable really--was that Andy was teaching her how to shoot so she could protect herself. In reality, Adilyn thought her dad just needed a new hunting partner now that uncle Terry was gone. "I don't mind taking help, just wish I could offer it more, ya know?" There wasn't a whole lot she could do until she got her powers under control, but she was a real good listener, and a real good sitter according to Aunt Arlene. That was a start she supposed.

Hmm...do things now because life was short. Seemed like a good plan, she just needed to convince Andy to take her to Disney World or Land. Then she'd find someone to play dolls with, and to have a tea party with. The commercials for that Build a Bear place looked fun too, and she didn't have a teddy bear yet so that was on her list, and maybe some dance classes as well.

Her hands trembled as she gently lowered the teenager to the ground. She bit her lip as she could feel the fangs pop out again. Taking several deep breaths she forced her fangs to retract. “Yeah, I’m done.”  Jessica said softly smiling at Adilyn. It never failed to make her smile at the other girl’s surprise or curiosity.

"Oh umm….yeah,  here, " Jessica shrugged off the coat she wore to help cover Adilyn up. Her eyes looked away trying to not look at the brunette. If she looked, her hunger would grow to where she wouldn’t control it. Once, she had the fae in her arms, Jessica just shrugged at the question. " They say whatever’s holding us together just stops working and liquifies everything we are. Some people say its the final mark of our sins, a reminder of all the lives we’ve taken." She closed her eyes trying to not remind herself of the lives she had taken. The nightmares still haunted her, twisted reminders of what she did to Violet’s sisters. 

" No. It ain’t like she’s gonna need them." Carefully, she set down Adilyn before looking around the room. All she really wanted to do was burn the place to the ground.  Jessica pulled back like she had been burned once she realized that she was hugging Adilyn. Her mouth snapped close trying to hide the foner she had.  Standing guard outside, Jessica wondered if she should text Andy and let him know that his daughter was safe.

Accepting the coat with a small smile, she couldn't help but be glad there didn't appear to be any Violet blood on it. Surprising really considering how fierce that fight hat looked. "Thank you," she replied before listening to the explanation Jessica gave about Violet's lack of bones. That made a lot of sense really, other than the sin part. Adilyn hadn't ever read the bible or been to church really, but she didn't really like the idea of sin. So many things were considered sins polyester and other blended fabrics, divorce, wearing gold or other expensive things, and even eating shellfish. If simple silly things like those could be sins...well, it was just harder to take all sins seriously really. Maybe it was because she didn't know if God was real or she should believe in him.

"Other than the sin stuff, that makes sense...It's like when humans die, we decompose, and leave nothing behind eventually. You guys just decompose a lot faster and leave puddles of goop," she offered trying to rationalize it, and remove the whole religious element. Vampire death was like human death, all science really not religion. She was pretty sure she liked science better than a lot of things in the world. It was nice to have something concrete, not supernatural like a lot of the citizens of Bon Temps.

"Then I suggest ya hold onto it as long as ya can. People have ta grow up too fast, it ain’t always good. Trust me, I know. Ya may be few months old livin in a.. teenage body, but.. don’t be so fast on bein an adult.. live yer life. Everythin goes by in seconds if ya don’t watch out ‘n ya wasted lotta time." She gave her a small smile. Tara herself ha to grow up fast because her own mother didn’t bother taking care of her, so she had to do it herself. She had never gotten the childhood a child deserves, to live free and happy, instead of having to worry whether your own mother would die in her own vomit., because she had drank too much and always ended up being sick, leaving Tara to deal with the mess.

"Maybe...but childlike innocence can be dangerous, I've gotta act my physical age eventually," she agreed. She didn't want to always need others to protect her, but she needed to learn a lot about the world still. She nodded listening to everything before finally saying, "I feel like I already missed out on a lot of things because of the advanced aging...there's just some things you can't do in a teenager's body." Well, you technically could do some of the things she was thinking of, if you had a lot of confidence and didn't mind looking like a dork. She did mind though, so she couldn't help wishing she'd gotten to do some of the things other girls get to do in their childhood years.

Adilyn coughed and blushed lightly in embarrassment as she nodded lightly. "Yeah, and I had them about some other vampire too after daddy gave me that blood they had in evidence to heal me...I just thought I was super drunk and the dreams were because of that until I started having the ones about Jessica," she admitted still blushing. It may be natural, but it felt so...unnatural. She almost felt ashamed, but it wasn't like she could do nothing to stop them. Of course, it was reassuring to know they'd end on their own eventually. "He does...which a lot of people find surprising because of the persona he puts off," she offered with a smile. He was even good to Rocky and Wade, did stuff with them since their own father was far away and they were all going to be a family. Miss Holly did stuff with her too, which was nice considering how her first and only clothes shopping trip with her father had gone.

"I think.. it can make ya naive, but.. there ain’t nothin wrong with tyin ta see tha good in people. As long as yer careful." She knew from experience that Sookie had been too naive sometimes and it had led to her getting hurt. She could only hope Adilyn would be more careful. She did have people who protected her, but sooner or later she would find it stifling and would want to be her own person. Be independent, so she hoped for the halfling she wouldn’t make any mistakes. 

"Course." Tara nodded. She knew it was important. With Eggs, even if she was the only one who cared, he had deserved a funeral and had gotten it. It was painful, but just being able to visit made it slightly better. The girl deserved to have that as well, so if she could talk to Jessica and have them buried somewhere so the girl could visit her sisters, she knew it would make a difference. 

She chuckled, the girl was cute. “Hmm, well as far as I know what it tasted for me also tasted tha same for Sook. However.. I know when she drank vampire blood, thangs were more.. pronounced.. like she could smell better, taste better. It might been that.” Tara led the comment slide and focused on nicer things. “Well that’d be nice. Maybe they will ask ya.”

"It probably does...but like I said, I'm really only a few months old and haven't lost that childlike innocence when looking at the world, livin' around here, I expect it'll die fast," she said with a shrug. You saw a lot of bad things when you lived around vampires, and werewolves, and other supernatural things. It was really only a mater of time until Adilyn was desensitized to it all. She could only hope that by the time that all of that happened she would know how to take care of herself. When threatened she could use her light, but she couldn't fully control it yet.

Adilyn nodded lightly and took another sip of her alcohol free beer. That made sense actually. After daddy gave her that vampire blood to heal her, things had tasted different, but she'd been hung over too so she'd chalked it down to that. She'd had the gator not long after drinking Jessica's blood so that would explain why she thought it was different. "Your blood gives...odd dreams too don't it?" she inquired not wanting to go into any more detail than that. It was kinda embarrassing to talk about really. Thinking about it made her feel strange too.

"I hope so..." she started with a huge smile. A wedding was something exciting considering all of the awful things that happened around here all the time. "I figure I'd make a decent bridesmaid, I mean, I'm technically young enough, age wise, to be a flower girl, but that would be mighty awkward." What Adilyn was really most excited about was the party later on after the wedding...the reception was what she thought Miss Holly had called it. The reception would run even after sundown so that any vampire invites, like Aunt Arlene's new boyfriend, could make it.

"Uh.. no, I don’t. He probably has. I could talk ta Jess maybe? I can try ‘n make her talk.. she confessed it ta me, after she was taken ‘n put in tha camp. I’ll try.." She knew that the girl probably wanted to visit her sisters, to be able to put some closure behind her, leave flowers. Tara was going to have a little chat with the redhead. 

"It does. I was very surprised ta find out how good it tastes. It’s difficult ta explain, but it’s how it is. It tastes different for ya? Huh, that’s a new one. Cool. Oh.. eh no, it’s all goo.. If ya stake one, or behead.. it.. pops inta goo. Dunno why, but it’s disgustin. Ya would think there are bones huh.." She shrugged. "I do know.. tha older one is, that when they meet tha sun? If they’re really old, they just become dust.. where as I.. would be goo. I would burn ‘n end up tha same." Tara explained. It wasn’t something she liked to think about, but she answered her anyway. "Oh that’s nice. Good for him."

Adilyn figure they must have at least gotten the bodies out of their living room. What had happened to them after that she didn't know. Who knows though, maybe vampires enjoyed the smell of decomposition. The half fae still hadn't learned that much about vampires, for all she knew, there sense of smell was as different as their sense of taste. She did know for sure that vampires weren't cannibals, they drank the blood they didn't eat the flesh, so wherever her sisters were, they were definitely decomposing. She wondered for a moment if Maurella knew that three of them had died, like if she could sense it because of the light bond thing her father had told her he'd entered into. "Thank you, I'd really appreciate it."

Difficult to explain pretty much covered a lot of things in their world. Bon Temps, Shreveport, they would just be difficult in general to explain to an outsider. "Wade and Rocky think it taste like chicken, and I guess it does, but kinda grizzly, fatty chicken...I'm not a huge fan, but I love actual chicken," she explained with a small smile. Maybe she'd just gotten a bad piece, or maybe it was just because she knew what it looked like before it had landed on her plate. "It really is, I'm real happy the Hep-V vamp that died on our porch just became dust...I so would not have wanted to clean him up if he was a pile of goop." She let the subject drop after that because yeah, it wasn't a great one. Maybe someday she would know why vampire bones turned to goop when they died, but not today. "I'm excited...hopping I'll be a maid of honour or something."

She chuckled. “When I was still human I didn’t like it neither. I had to once, nearly threw up cause of it. Course now it’s different, but I don’t bite unless I got permission. Tha ones who were infected didn’t give a fuck. They needed extra blood ta keep movin, it didn’t make no difference. Thangs are different now, so if claimed, yer claimed. Sure, go ahead.” Tara nodded. Not sure if she was going to like the question, but she would still answer it anyways. “Holly’s a good person. Always liked her. She ‘n yer dad still together?” 

Adilyn nodded lightly. "I know she did...she said she still has nightmares, and I do too. Do you...know if she and Mr. Bill buried them? I think it would be maybe, a little easier to get past it if I knew what happened to them," she offered a little nervously. She had forgiven Jessica and all, but she'd really like some place to go to see her sister's. Daddy had never gone back for the bodies, and the official story they told everyone was that her sisters had gone back to their mama. Only people close to Jessica, or Adilyn even knew the truth.

"I figured blood tasted different to vampires, like how gator tastes different to me than to Wade and Rocky," she enthused happy to have been right about that vampire observation anyway. "Well...I was wondering, when vampires don't burn in the sun, but die in other ways, what happens to their bones? Cuz the Violet goop pile didn't look it had any bones." Again Adilyn nodded, she liked Holly too, and Rocky wasn't all that bad...Wade was better now that he had stopped hitting on her. "Yeah, they are. They're planning a wedding for Spring or Summer."

Tara followed her gaze and grinned. “I see.” She chuckled. “Ya drank her blood? That I was unaware of. Well.. yeah.. it does mean she claimed ya, but that don’t mean everyone plays by them rules. Sides, she kinda needs tha make a statement that she owns ya.. we don’t smell it. Don’t worry.. if someone bothers ya, just let me know and I’ll make sure it’s dealt with. “Really? Surprised he allowed it. Well ya just enjoy yerself.. like I said, if someone’s botherin ya, tell me.”

"Mhm...I'm not a vampire though, so it just kinda tasted gross to me," she offered not really knowing if drinking a vampire's blood was a big deal or not. She'd been having odd dreams since she'd done it, but then again, she had an overactive imagination on a good day. "Well, she did make a statement to this Hep-V vamp that wanted to eat me, but he got roasted by the sun. Hey can I ask you something about when vampires die?" she asked making sure it was safe to ask odd questions instead of just dropping one into the conversation. "I'll be sure to tell you...or use my light depending on the situation." Funny how well everyone knew her father. He actually had been 100% opposed to the idea of her going with the boys for a night. "Miss Holly convinced him to let me come." Honestly, having Holly Cleary as a soon to be step-mother wasn't all that bad. Adilyn couldn't understand why all those fairytale step-mothers were so evil.

"So what brings ya to Fangtasia? I mean a halfling like yerself ain’t exactly save her unless ya can really take care o’ yerself. Does Andy know yer here?" Knowing the sheriff her probably had no idea that his daughter was in a vampire bar.

After taking a sip of her beer, Adilyn looked around for the girl she'd followed into the nightclub finding her dancing around one of the poles. "I just followed her," Adilyn replied pointing. "This place looked interesting, and I was curious. I do have my light if I need it, but I thought because I had Jessica's blood that meant no other vampire would touch me." Wasn't there like some vampire code or something? If a vampire laid claim to a blood source, another couldn't take it? Sorta like how if Rocky called dibs on the last slice a cake, Adilyn couldn't eat it. "He knows I came to Shreveport," she replied, but of course, Tara meant did her dad know she was in Fangtasia, which he didn't because she didn't even know until she walked in.

"Close your eyes and look away, I don’t want ya to get hurt. " With that she broke the iron cuffs and chains in an instant.  Her hands gently helped lower Adilyn down before wrapping her in the blanket. " You sure?" She could feel her hands hover, ready to check for any damage or blemish. Jessica couldn’t sense any injury but nodded.

"We should…I mean ya clothes…Here, I’m gonna pick you up and we’ll fina ya somethin’ to wear." Jessica said softly trying to not freak her out. Plus, she was 99 percent sure that the other girl didn’t want to walk in dead vamp goop.  Once Adilyn was in her arms, she made sure to be gentle as she carried her towards what looked to be a bedroom.

Aunt Arlene always complained when she got eyelashes in her eyes, and that seemed to happen a lot as she put on or took off her fake lashes. What were those made out of? Not human hair, they were too thick. That was something to ask Aunt Arlene when she got home. "Oh, you're done," Adilyn said in surprise as she found herself on the ground. Who said being curious was a bad thing? Her curiosity had kept her mind busy and she hadn't even realized the chains were being broken.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she confirmed once more. Nothing was bruised or anything, she'd gotten pretty lucky. "Can't say the same for my clothes though." Okay...the skirt was Aunt Arlene's, but the rest was her's. Considering daddy had yet to take her shopping, she didn't have a ton of clothes to her name. "Thanks, I don't really wanna walk in Violet...where did her bones go?" she inquired as she consented to being lifted up. At least with no bones, walking through Violet wouldn't have hurt, but that was the last thing she wanted on her feet.

"How old are ya?" She asked in suspicion. "Wait.. are ya Andy’s girl?" Jessica had told her all about it that she had been protecting his daughters and drained them all expect for one. She nodded in understanding "Wha was it ya wanted again?"

"I'm umm..." she paused for a moment to try and think. "A little over three months old," she admitted meekly. Technically, she looked eighteen years old, but the rapid aging had sort of caused her lots of problems. She didn't have a birth certificate, and would likely have trouble getting her driver's license as a result. "Yeah, that's me, Adilyn, and you are?" Should she know the bartender? The bartender seemed to know her. "A beer...or whatever is good," Adilyn offered with a little shrug. She'd had beer before, but she'd never tried any other sort of alcohol.
