It has been a month since I was inactive here, and a lot has happened— both the good and the bad.

I finally graduated from law school. It was a long steep battle of four years, and it was not easy. What made it bearable was the privilege of being surrounded by supportive family, classmates, friends, and professors (the one in the photo is my favorite professor). And I'm forever grateful for them for being a source of fuel to continue what I have started.

I'm currently preparing for a bigger battle ahead which is the bar exams this September.

This is a VEERRRRY surprising fact about Philippine law.

Here's a scenario:

Let's suppose that you are married. You came home one night from work, and upon entering your room, you saw your wife/husband having sex with another person. Out of anger, right then and there, you were able to kill both your husband/wife and the person they were having sex with.

You wouldn't be imprisoned.

You'll still be criminally liable in the eyes of the law, but you wouldn't be sentenced with imprisonment, but only destierro (this is sort of like a restraining order where you're prohibited from entering or staying in the vicinity of a specific place).

Been studying non-stop for the past three weeks, and I've already accumulated 116 hours and 59 minutes of study time. I am this desperate to graduate. 😩

I've been studying non-stop since last Tuesday. With every hour I put in studying, it feels so satisfying, but there's that looming dread that I'm running out of time to study everything for the mock bar exams.

I locked in a total of 6 hours and 15 minutes of studying last Wednesday, and yesterday, I locked in a total of 9 hours and 15 minutes.

I also discovered a new study place in Cebu because my favorite study place closed for the holidays. I really like its location, and it feels so spacious. Their brewed coffee tastes really good than my favorite study place, but their seats are uncomfy and the bathroom smells funny (not unpleasant, just funny). It's not that bad though. I would say that it's still a really good study place and would definitely recommend it to friends.

What worked for me is pomodoro. 1 hour of deep focus with 15 minutes breaks in between. The breaks helped me to avoid burnout.

Woke up at 8am to study on my favorite co-working space.

I focused on Criminal Law Review so I can catch up on my backlogs. I was able to finish the entire title on crimes against persons, and crimes against liberty and security. Currently, I'm about two-thirds done with crimes against property.

I studied for a total of 11 hours and 34 minutes, and lord jizas christ, my lower back hurts.

Went to the school library at 11am to study for Criminal Law Review.

I was able to study for 4 hours today.

I was also able to book my seat on my usual co-working space for tomorrow, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Our professor in Practice Court II announced that we won't be having classes, so we just waited for our next class in Commercial Law Review at 8pm.

Today was a fun day at school. It was fun just being silly with my classmates.

I felt really shy when some of my classmates noticed and complimented my haircut. But it was also really flattering.

Woke up at 9am to go to school early to study for our pre-final exam in Taxation Law Review. I was able to review for 3 hours.

I think I finally found the perfect study process that I will adopt during my bar exam review proper. Anki was a really big help in retaining information from what I studied.

The exam started at 3pm, and boy oh boy, it was a struggle.

After the exam, I decided to go for a 10km run with law school friends.

The past two days have been really fulfilling. Since we were holding online classes only for Civil Law Review, I decided to go and study out on my usual co-working space.

I was surprised to find out that 3 of my classmates also decided to study out. One of them being my happy crush in law school. Just a happy litol crush tho, she's already taken.

I was able to study from 11am until 3am the following morning. I got so much done, and it was really fulfilling.

Today, I woke up at 10am and went to the school library to continue studying. I felt really groggy, but thanks to a good cup of coffee, I was able to force myself to study Taxation Law Review for 6 hours.

I also worked on our class assignment for Legal Counselling.

I am currently obsessed over this pomodoro application that I just discovered. Its name is pixeldoro, and it's like an open world game where you can go anywhere to study (your room, the cafè, or the shop, etc.). Every pomodoro session, you are rewarded with coins that you can use to buy decorations or furnitures for your room. You can see other people studying too.

For some unknown reason, I woke up at around 6:00am. Might just be my body's fight or flight response for the dreaded Commercial Law Review summative exam. Although it was nice witnessing the sunrise, and I loved how the light entered my room.

I studied in my room for about an hour before preparing to go to school.

I only slept for about 4 hours last night, so I needed a caffeine boost to study. So, it was me and my Red Bull against the world. I was able to study for 4 hours.

Our summative exam started at 1pm, and boy, it was a roller coaster ride. Some lawyers and law students would say that Taxation Law is the hardest subject in law school, but Commercial Law is the bane of my existence.

Attended our special class on Civil Law Review at 4:30pm to 9:00pm which was a struggle because the energy spike from the Red Bull have already dropped, so I was really sleepy.

Woke up at 9am and went to the school library and studied for 2 hours for Commercial Law Review.

Received my midterm exam paper on Criminal Law Review, and I was glad that I did good.

Attended our 4 hours regular class for Criminal Law Review (with little review here and there for Criminal Procedure).

Went to a nearby coffee shop to continue studying for Commercial Law Review. I was able to study for 4 hours.

By 10pm, I was able to run for 5km under 36 minutes.

The past few days have been a blur, yet a lot has happened.

I was finally able to complete my bar exam application requirements and paid the bar exam fee too.

Classes are on overtime too, since there's only 5 weeks left before our mock bar exams.

There's no classes today, so I went out and bought supplies as well as food for the cats.

I spent the rest of the day extensively cleaning our condo unit.

Went out at 6:30pm to go for a run, and I was able to finish 10kms under 1 hour and 8 minutes.

As the class beadle, I created a tracker for our court appearance in Practice Court II per the request of our professor.

Also finished the digital guidebook revisions for work.
