𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐄 the blue princess’ attitude, although she despised mockery. 𝑰𝑻’𝑺 𝑳𝑰𝑲𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝒀 𝑵𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑹 𝑳𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑵 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑰𝑹 𝑳𝑬𝑺𝑺𝑶𝑵, the notion dancing inside her brain, clouding her better judgement. & so, mal turned her head back to the damaged wall and continued what she wanted to do in the first place —— paint the walls and leave her signature behind. but the longer she kept the silence going, the more it irked on her nerves. not even the spray could break away the awkward silence she tried to enforce. 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐄, 𝐒𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐈𝐓. she turned around on her heels, letting the purple spray in her hand slip & fall to the ground, although her eyes didn’t even bother to look at it, instead, they were piercing the other.
❝ and 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐋𝐘 do you think i’d bother asking you something i’d already know the answer to ? ❞ a step towards the princess, she wanted ( 𝐧𝐨, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃 ) to prove her status on the isle, even when it came to someone like . . . evelyn, was it ? who knew, at that point mal didn’t even bother to remember the name. ❝ i haven’t seen your pretty blue locks since . . . forever. so i’ll excuse you for now, but do tell whatever’s bothering 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒. ❞ & although her tone was tainted with mockery & demand, mal was 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐘 curious.
She blinked, watching Mal’s reaction carefully, and as bitter and annoyed as the girl seemed to be with her mere presence, there was something honest to it. She really didn’t understand the context.
“...it bothers you, doesn’t it? That you don’t know,” Evie realized, and she did her best not to smile with intriguement over that fact. For a moment, she considered not telling Mal at all, wondering just how far she could toy with her, but no, she supposed that wouldn’t progress anything between them. If she pissed Mal off too badly, there was always the risk of her running back to her mom, or taking matters into her own hands against Evie, and that simply wouldn’t do.
Shaking her head slightly, Evie attempted a different tactic, and her tone lightened. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if you’re not aware. I don’t get out of my castle that much, and it’s been a really long time since my mom or I have actually been allowed out. Forgive me,” She extended an apology, and even bowed her head for added measure. A little sign of respect, but not a curtsey or a full-blown bow. After all, Mal was formidable, but Evie could say she outranked her in royalty.
“Evelyn Grimms, but you can call me Evie. My mom’s the Evil Queen,” She introduced herself, and then tilted her head slightly, playing up some naivety. “It’s Mal, right?”
