She blinked, watching Mal’s reaction carefully, and as bitter and annoyed as the girl seemed to be with her mere presence, there was something honest to it. She really didn’t understand the context.
“…it bothers you, doesn’t it? That you don’t know,” Evie realized, and she did her best not to smile with intriguement over that fact. For a moment, she considered not telling Mal at all, wondering just how far she could toy with her, but no, she supposed that wouldn’t progress anything between them. If she pissed Mal off too badly, there was always the risk of her running back to her mom, or taking matters into her own hands against Evie, and that simply wouldn’t do.
Shaking her head slightly, Evie attempted a different tactic, and her tone lightened. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if you’re not aware. I don’t get out of my castle that much, and it’s been a really long time since my mom or I have actually been allowed out. Forgive me,” She extended an apology, and even bowed her head for added measure. A little sign of respect, but not a curtsey or a full-blown bow. After all, Mal was formidable, but Evie could say she outranked her in royalty.
“Evelyn Grimms, but you can call me Evie. My mom’s the Evil Queen,” She introduced herself, and then tilted her head slightly, playing up some naivety. “It’s Mal, right?”
𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 that bothered her ------ thus, remaining silent & contemplating about everything that had recently happened. a scrunch of the nose was enough of a response, or so she thought. she absolutely despised that the blue haired princess standing afore her was . . . right. although she probably didn’t even think as thoroughly as mal about that statement. after her notion regarding the other’s name had been validated, being pleased with what was happening, mal decided to follow her instinct to keep interacting. ❝ and you’re right, your highness, ❞ she too bowed down, amusement written all over her features. cue the straightened of her composure, spine sharp & straight, shoulders loosely behind her. a frown soon formed upon her visage, what did evie mean when she said she wasn’t 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 to leave her castle ? ❝ wait, you’re not allowed ? ❞ genuine surprise entwined with intriguing.
❝ don’t tell me it’s ------ ❞ a pause in which a smile can hardly be fought from emerging, ❝ ‘cause of that party thing, right ? ❞ & thus a laugh finally left her pretty lips, head tilted to a side, ❝ i mean, yeah, it was pretty 𝑹𝑼𝑫𝑬 to skip me on the guest list, but that was more unfortunate for you, i used to bring 𝑮𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑻 gifts to birthday parties, ❞ & though that wasn’t exactly a lie, mal didn’t resent neither the girl nor her mother. she had no idea that 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐒. yet, there she was, pretty blue locks standing just a few feet from her.
