Basically Del is Kyle's dad and Toonz is Squirrel's. The boys become friends in school but to others it often looks like Squirrel is mean to Kyle (which he is but that's just how he is with his close friends) so the teachers try to intervene. When Del hears his baby is being bullied, he gets angry and wants to rip the bully and their parents a new one. Only to be met with a sight of Toonz, a man from his past, the one that got away, the one that Del has not been able to forget about for the last more than ten years.
