• That's when something clicks in his mind

• He gets a bit pouty that you never told him, but he gets over it rather quickly

• He's more concerned about learning more about werewolves to understand you a bit better

Imagine a Tav with an absent father, not uncommon in adventurers. Most people with complete and happy families don’t spend their lives on the road. This Tav would be an Elf or Half-Elf, depending on your preference. (I prefer the elf spin, since in this narrative that would make our almost-100 year old Tav barely not an adult per Elven tradition).

The narrative would be entirely the same, except concerning Halsin. While in the process of getting to know one another, when the subject of family comes up, they (Halsin and Tav) realize they share a connection; Tav’s mother is Halsin’s “Lost” lover. They connect the dots surrounding Tav’s birth and the timeline of when Halsin lost her and reach the logical conclusion: Halsin is Tav’s missing father.

How would he feel about seeing his (for elves) not quite adult child making all these grand efforts. How does it change when his perspective shifts from “protect my stupid heroic reckless friend” to “protect my stupid heroic reckless child”?

It could only ever be fanfiction, since there’s no real way to trigger that with any specific character choice and also make it optional for those who’d rather fuck him. It may be the daddy issues, but it’s all I’ve been able to think about lately.

Honestly, Halsin would take to this like a duck to water. He's a natural at being a dad, even if you're almost an adult. He was already a guiding hand before the revelation but he's more involved afterwards. Keeps you safe, makes sure you're fed, is a keen ear whenever you need someone to just listen. Offers great advice too, and might just die of happiness if his child is a druid too. Proud dad fr. He'd likely want to see his child's mother again if he can, likely just as friends and co-parents this time.

Dammon

Dare I say, Dammon is a simple man

I think his favourite comfort food might just be a Sunday roast, with all the fixings

Whatever the protein, beef, chicken, duck, lamb, or pork he's going to love it

Especially likes duck, though, because the duck fat cooks into the veggies

Dammons not a picky eater, pile his plate high with everything on offer

Meat, potatoes, parsnips, kumera, beetroot, carrots, Yorkshire puddings, gravy

Man loves a good feed

He's shockingly helpful in the kitchen too

Usually sticks to things like peeling and cutting the veggies or plucking the chicken so you just have to do the seasoning and cooking for everything

He maintains the opinion that it 'tastes better when you cook it, like magic or something'

He's always happy to help with clean up though, he'll be elbow deep washing dishes in the sink before you can even think of cleaning up

I feel like he's also very protective of his leftover food, it always tastes better the next day after all

Zevlor

While I'd love to say Zevlor has a secret sweet tooth, the only thing I can think about is how good he'd be with a grill

Modern day Zevlor would have multiple barbeques

Honestly, give him a grill and a smoker and just let him loose

Zevlor finds one recipe that works really well and he just sticks to it for as long as possible

Finding that recipe though? A bit of help from cookbooks, a little bit of vibes, and a hell of a lot of testing

He loves just spending a warm evening grilling up steaks and sausages and any other goodies available

Somehow always gets a perfect char on his meats, it almost makes you wonder if he's made a blood sacrifice to the grilling gods

Smokes hella good fish too

Fish he caught himself

He's a provider

You just need to worry about sides like bread and salad, he's got the star of any summertime dinner sorted

Make sure you tell him how tasty you think the food is, Zev gets all flustered and sweet

Tail swaying, not looking you in the eyes, response all cute and quiet

Zevlor is both house husband and dad coded, it's simply a fact

Rolan

As I've said, this man can't cook

Like, you've locked the kitchen with an anti magic padlock and wear the key

He likes food though even if he fogets to eat every other day and he can prepare non cooked meals

He really enjoys charcuterie boards

Fancy as hell, loves a selection of cheeses, crackers, cured meats, fresh and dried fruits, olives

Uses a mage hand to eat it bc he loves finger foods but hates feeling food residue on his fingers

If you want to make him short circuit then hand feed him some cheese on a cracker or something, his whole brain shuts down the first time you do it

He loves curling up with you, a good book, and an even better cheese board

Does regular date nights where the both of you make various types of boards (cheese, veggie, dessert ect) together and have a little feast while reading books to each other

Unlike the others, I think this man does have a secret sweet tooth

He's no good at baking but he loves when you bake for him

Have him read a book to you as you bake, it's basically an audiobook-

And he was a man, she couldn’t deny that now. The skittering of her heart made it abundantly clear that she’d noticed him in that way and it threw every interaction they’d had recently into a new light. Every brush of his hand against hers, each time he’d held her hip to steady her as he passed by, every touch felt more like a wish than an accident and she wasn’t sure it was only him wishing. She curled into herself and thought of the last time she’d caught him staring at her. His watchful eye had felt stern then as he’d followed her meandering path around his store, but now she wondered if it wasn’t just the intensity of his gaze that made it feel that way. Had he been keeping an eye on her or had he been simply observing, appreciating, desiring? Her face reddened further, the heat radiating from her cheeks embarrassing and it only made her more glad to be alone right now. The thought of him seeing her as an object of desire opened her up to see him the same way and gods how had she been so stupid. He was stunning, there was no other word for it. Everything from his posture to his voice to, unfortunately, his attitude was appealing and she knew she was in trouble. How would she face him in the morning? How could she speak to him without this newfound but also apparently long-standing want of him spilling forth from her lips? The only thing she could think of was to press her lips to his as soon as she saw him and that was worse! She was doomed, there was nothing for it.

She laid back down and brought the blanket up over her head, curling into a miserable ball of girlish want. Eventually, Tav slept and when she did she dreamt of Rolan’s hand on her cheek as his other arm wrapped around her back, holding her to him as he pressed his lips to hers rather than her forehead this time.

I knew you'd see the vision-!

I took a small break from bg3 and have now returned to it (finally doing my durge play through) and with it so have my endless ideas. This is mostly directed at Zevlor because he took the role of the protector of those tiefling refugees, so I imagine he'd have the biggest reaction to it.

How would the boys react to knowing that Durge killed Alfira? Going with the idea that the Durge truly feels awful (good ending durge) and fully blames themselves for what happened.

As said, Zevlor would feel the worst. Suddenly being told that his beloved not only had these dark urges clawing at their very being, but for them to have killed one of those he had once sworn to protect?

Whether or not it's known yet that Durge is a bhalspawn, Zevlor will lash out (like at the gate in act 1), only for it to die down in an instant he sees the genuine remorse and acceptance to his anger from Durge. Zevlor will demand an explanation, he needs it.

And further they go along, he'll forgive, eventually. And by gods he's going to help Durge get rid of those thoughts.

Rolan I sadly don't see reacting much, given he wasn't that close to the other refugees in the first place, he will be put off, concerned for Lia and Cal's safety, but willing to help.

Dammon on the other hand, he isn't an adventurer, a fighter. He for the most part is an normal citizen, and knowing what truly happened to the bard by the hands of Durge might just be a deal breaker.

Of course it depends on how devoted and loyal you headcanon each of them.

My apologies if some of these make no sense, I am, thanks to the lovely game, sleep deprived.

Hi Ranger anon, sorry for letting this rot in my inbox for forever while I took a break from the blog (and most of my hobbies lol).

I've actually never done a durge play through bc I'm too much of a wuss to hurt fictional characters so I don't feel like I can write a huge amount about this one, I will give a simple version of my thoughts though.

Zevlor is no stranger to killing, though for him it has always been on the battlefield. While he can convince himself that he kills for a good cause, this would shake him. I don't think he'd let the durge around the rest of the refugees after this when they travel no matter how much he likes them. The tieflings depend on him to keep them safe. He would, however, reconnect with durge in Baldurs gate and help them conquer their dark urges.

Rolan would be a mixed bag. He doesn't care about Alfira, sorry not sorry. He does care for Cal and Lia though, and he wouldn't let them near durge alone after this. The wizard fully believes going to Baldurs Gate and training under Lorroakan will make him the greatest wizard, and he promises to use what he learns to help durge.

He returned the last book to its proper place in one of the bookcases in the back of the room. As Rolan went to leave, he passed a chaise tucked away off to the side, the soft glow of the magically lit sconces flickering pleasingly and casting delicate shadows on the stone walls and across the figure laying there, the book she’d presumably been reading as she fell asleep held open against her chest by the hand resting atop it. With each breath, he watched the book rise and fall with her, taking just a moment to preserve how at peace she looked, how much younger she seemed without the weight of the worlds expectations and problems upon her, even if just for a moment.

He sat on the edge of the chaise, perching himself just beside her legs. He reached out and brushed the hair that had fallen across her face away. He couldn’t believe how quickly she’d gotten under his skin, how soon he’d gotten used to the fact that she’d be there. He yearned for her, a phrase he hadn’t understood until recently and one he almost wished he still didn’t. Only almost, he found he could never truly regret anything about meeting her.He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, lingering much longer than he needed to for the gesture. He pulled back and watched her a moment more, golden eyes lingering on soft pink lips for just a second before he got up again. He left and came back to the library a moment later, a soft blanket over one arm. He covered her with the blanket, making sure no part of her is left in the cold, before making his way out again, back to his own room, to spend the night dreaming of the day he might be able to hold her freely and whenever he wanted.
