An old poem I wrote for a good friend in 2016. Ah, how time flies. 

"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break."

Some thoughts I had as an Asian American. 

The seasons change time and time again But one thing remains constant: 

You. 

-this is what I told myself when I was depressed and it’s gotten me this far

To me, writing has always been a cathartic experience. I love wearing my heart on my sleeve and trying to make sense of my thoughts and emotions. It’s a part of myself I never want to lose. 

There are only 26 letters in the English alphabet, but the possibilities are endless. By simply stringing certain words together, you could be the reason for someone’s happiness. Or you could break their hearts. 

It’s amazing how words are the only tool that can bring joy, inflict pain, and everything in between. To use that power recklessly would be a shame. 

So this is my journey to find the right words. To use them for good. To explore humanity through my eyes — in the hopes that someone might understand. 

I won’t try to make the words perfect. They’ll be raw, unfiltered, and maybe even brutally honest. But most importantly, they’ll be mine.
