Always... stay with me

Oh God, guess what else I just found? The complete version of the Russian period soap Bednaya Nastya (Poor Nastya), which ate my life 6-7 years ago. 

Basically, think telenovela, only in Russian. It’s about as historically authentic as a piece of cheese (though still miles ahead of e.g., Reign :P), but the people are so pretty and the main love story rocks my socks, because it’s my favorite tropes of ‘they hate each other then they fall for each other’ mixed with ‘he is a jerk to her at first and then has to repent and repent and repent. And pine for her while she drools over his best friend.’ And she is a super-beautiful, super-talented (duh! :P) actress serf (or is she?!) and he is an aristocrat with daddy issues - namely, she was his Daddy’s serf and he preferred her to him (it’s tough, being an aristocrat!). There are duels, birth secrets, jail stays, more angst than you can shake all the sticks in a Russian wood at, some deliciously cheesy acting, a ton of rescuing from the bad guys (yessssss) and a male lead that melts my brain with his angsty hotness. 

No one wants you. You deserve nothing. That's what a winter lamb hears over and over until one day he starts to believe it's true.
