          “– anakin, stop panakin.”

            anakin was not easily pulled from sleep. his dreams were so often vivid & engrossing, so full of emotions he was not permitted to feel express in his waking hours with obi-wan. but he was not unhappy or frightened or pained in his dreams this night, for the presence beside him exuded warmth & peace & love, chasing away the demons who filled his mind with memories & moments of death, destruction, && despair. no, they had no place with him now--not with padme at his side. he’d fallen asleep so quickly & easily on their wedding night, spent with happiness after the events of the day--&& the night, he’d whispered & winked, && padme had laughed & rolled her eyes--but he woke now as the sun barely began to shade the chamber in pale blues & violets. he woke because of the gentle hands tracing the raised, jagged, old lines on his back. he turned over, facing his wife & stopping her touch. his cheeks burned, && he didn’t say a word, simply holding her hands in his--one flesh & one metal, && both ice-cold.
