Yearning and Slow Burning

I’m not sure why, but here’s some thoughts I just feel like getting out about oldest Duggar boy Josh.

I grew up sort of similar to him, in a large family, the oldest child. We weren’t quite as fundie as the Duggars, but still a very conservative Christian household.

One of the the things drilled into me and my siblings at a young age was how important “purity” was. How you should wait for marriage, how precious your virginity was, especially as a girl. We were taught to hide our bodies from men in order to keep them from temptation, that by baring our shoulders WE were causing our brothers to stumble.

Well J*sh Duggar’s SISTERS were asleep in their beds. He went to great lengths to find and hide the CSA he had on his computer. Some of the sickest most disturbing stuff you can think of done to a girl who was only 18 months old. An absolute monster.

I fully believe that this behavior was ingrained and nurtured in him by the church. That’s my hot take. Churches breed pedophiles. In the IBLP fundie group the Duggars are part of, women are supposed to be subservient to men - not just their husbands! They are not allowed educations. They are not even allowed to reject sex! They must always be “joyfully available.” They literally teach women that their consent does not matter. Imagine saying that to your child after they were molested by your son.

They made J*sh like this. They fetishize purity and innocence, which generally applies to CHILDREN. They allowed him to touch and molest his sisters with no consequence. Showed him how to cover it up, made the girls keep quiet.
