haley is my waifu

now don’t get me wrong, i love stardew valley with a passion. i’ve poured almost 500 hours into this god forsaken game and i have no plan to stop. however, there are a few goofy/petty things that make me go “why” in this game and i am going to share them.

- the way the mayonnaise machines/casks/furnaces etc. pulsate make me feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE

- in the 1.4 update the fact that the fish talk. it is weird. i do not like my fish requesting diamonds from me, thank you very much. i do not like the fact that if i have one fish, he goes “We would appreciate it if you brought us some Pickles”. who is we. there is one of you. stop

- the marriage options are limited. now i’m half joking about this, concernedape has provided more than enough suitable bachelors/bachelorettes but goddamn let me marry pam alright

- the fact that if you pass out ON YOUR FARM joja still makes you pay for them like, bringing you to your home. you are on YOUR FARM. also, even if joja is shut down and no longer in stardew valley, they still do this. you can never escape. there is no escape.

- tomatoes are listed as a vegetable. enough said

- WHY THE HECK IS EVERYTHING LOCKED ON FESTIVAL DAYS? maybe i don’t WANNA go to the festival, lewis! maybe i would rather go and buy some hay for my starving animals before i realize it’s the festival of ice or the egg festival or something and i can’t do that. gosh dang

if anyone ever tells you that you need to “move on” from something or “get over it”, you absolutely do not have to listen to them. screw that.

if something has upset you or caused you emotional/physical/mental trauma, it’s nobody else’s right to decide when the right time to “move on” is, ESPECIALLY if they’re the perpetrator. it’s bonkers and absolutely inappropriate.

everybody gets over things at different speeds. some people never get over things, and that’s ok too. anger, grief, and pain aren’t things that just disappear in one night; they come and go and they change. if someone is going through something, there shouldn’t be some arbitrary time frame of how long you can be upset about something.
