A major grievance of mine as a transmasculine person browsing 'x reader' fics on here is that several writers neglect to specify that the fic is for female readers, until well into the fic. There are no indicators neither at the very start (eg. 'f reader/fem reader) nor in the tags.
Many times I have come across a fic with no gender specification assuming "Ah, this must be gender neutral, finally something I can insert myself into", only to be halfway into the fic and hit with 'woman', 'girlfriend', 'she', 'princess' or the like and for me to be uncomfortable. Nowadays I scroll pass blank indicated fics entirely because I don't want to deal with that same dysphoric stomach lurch.
This is not limited to the Blue Lock fandom.
While some of these writers may specify from within their blogs or an introductory post that they only write for female readers, this does not come through to people who browse fics via the explore page.
It is helpful to readers if writers properly tag their individual fics either from the get go or, even better, within the tags so Tumblr's tag filtering can do its thing. Many already do so and I appreciate that from them immensely.
