F OāDea, Kinvara
Another beautiful vintage Kinvara pub, though alas no longer open.
PJ Flatley, Kinvara
Over the Christmas, got to enjoy a wonderful evening in the company of Frank Flatley, pictured here standing by the door of his delightful Kinvara pub.Ā
Yes, Richmond Street, Dublin
Thinking of Savita and all the women who suffered due to the 8th Amendment over the years. This mural has become a shrine to her memory, with dozens of moving messages reflecting on the result of yesterdayās referendum.
Today we have a much clearer picture of Ireland. The resounding decision to repeal the 8th and give women control over their own bodies feels like a sudden shift. But in some ways, itās more like a fog has finally lifted, and we are seeing the true shape of our landscape for the first time, a landscape that has been obscured for so long.
The truth is, we are a compassionate, kind, caring people, who value empathy over ideology. The treatment of women here has been a national disgrace for far too long, but yesterday we rejected that legacy of shame and stigma. Irish women have fought for this result for so long, and because of that struggle, today we can all be proud to be Irish in a way we couldnāt before. Thank you, MnĆ” ne hĆireann.
Repeal the 8th, Essex Street, Dublin Today is the day we get to vote for womenās rights in Ireland. Maserās iconic artwork on the side of the Project Arts Centre was a taste of the campaign to come - controversial, debated, embraced, but most of all about love. āThis referendum is a chance for everyone in Ireland to leave such shame and stigma behind. We have, instead, the opportunity to replace them with trust and real empathy,ā we wrote in the New York Times, after describing our story. Yes.
Blackpitts Craftworks, Blackpitts, Dublin
This area is dramatically changed since this photo was taken a few years ago - this building incorporated into the ground floor of a multi-storey student accommodation complex. The sign, alas, has not survived the construction process. Still, itāsĀ a great neighbourhood.Ā

Teac Ćsta, Inis MeĆ”in A very welcoming pub on the Aran Islands. Happy St Patrickās Day everyone.
Style Kincaid, Mount Jerome, Dublin Surely the most dramatically named resident of this sprawling Victorian cemetery.
The Barley Mow, Markās Alley West, Dublin Happy New Years - this porg in the Liberties hopes the force will be with you in 2018.
The Childrenās Hospital, Temple Street, Dublin
Merry Christmas everyone, and especially to all the amazing staff minding people at hospitals all over the country today. Found out today that my grandmother worked at this hospital as a doctor in the 1940s, where she learned all about the importance of vaccines. They all deserve so much more praise than we usually give them.
Kennan & Sons, Fishamble Street, Dublin Name of a venerable old steelworks lives on in this shopfront.

The Irish Times, Townsend Street, Dublin Many great times over 12 years working by this great clock. So proud to have been part of the brilliant team getting the paper out every day.
TH Barnwell, Castle Street, Dublin Suspect this establishment might be a fictitious shop for a film set, but maybe I just haven't needed my boots repaired in a long time.
