Original (2022) and First Redraw (2024)

I’ve always liked these mostly because the colors were fun and I liked that I tried messing around with foreshortening. It’s interesting to see how my opinions have changed about these two drawings over time though.

I think it’s clear that originally I was prioritizing anatomy in a more grounded style, while in the redraw I pushed stylization a lot more. I really love the stylized direction I took with the first redraw, it makes him look really dynamic and cool. However I felt like I lost the traits of his character and accidentally turned him into a blue haired version of a different oc I was working on at the time, which sucks! While the original was stiffer I like his Shojo Guy Lead energy he’s got going on.
