'Trail Ruins' (My World AU)

What would his thought process be?

That's 'far' playing.

As mentioned, Steve does make tunes up in their head. After discovering the discs, they felt inspired and attempt to make something of those tunes:

That's 'wet hands'. Steve named it that because their hands got sweaty from learning to play the note blocks for the first time.

I have gotten many an ask, so I give a single answer in this form.

When they first woke up, Steve knew nothing but their own name and basic survival skills. With time, they met creatures, developed skills, created recipes and discovered strange structures scattered around the world.

Structures that they hope would fill in their apparent 'amnesia'. Temples, Strongholds, Fortresses, Trail Ruins, Bastions... and the creatures themselves too.

Zombies, that wear the same clothing and resemble their anatomy. Endermen, that they swear they could've heard speak but unsure if they've imagined it (Endermen tend to make their mind go fuzzy...). But no attempt at curing works and no attempt at communication is recognised.

Even the V/Illagers recognise this, in their clothing and in their deep purple eyes. Some have dubbed them the 'Living Zombie'.

Where did the structures come from? Where did everyone go? Why can't Steve recall anything? Major extinction event? War? Natural catastrophe? The Dragon? They seek the answer. In the world residents, in the engravings on pottery sherds, books of the Stronghold, the portal...

Everything leads to The End. Because everything ends. Surely.

Least fav? Oh well that's gotta be death by lava for sure

Researching dying in lava wielded results that are.. wildly different from how it is in minecraft, i guess steve is just so built that they can sink into it like liquid and not explode just long enough to really feel how nice and warm it is. Also technically their armour would be melting into them but hmm?

Not to mention losing all your stuff is another factor.

Another least fav death of theirs would be death by the void. Either in The End or if (well, WHEN) they find out how to break through the bottom bedrock layer and decide to check out whats there.

I imagine death by void would be something incomprehensible. Like after they die to it and respawn, they cannot remember the sensation except for the fact they hated it and fear it, they fear nothingness and to become nothing... and that their stuff is also gone again-

I've also imagined they'd hate situations where they have to kill themselves. Like if they fell down a ravine and broke their legs and dont have enough food to recover. Or if a creeper happened to blow up their lower body off. Situations where they have no out and its best to just put their stuff in a chest and die.

They don't have a fav death, dying sucks even as an immortal. The sensation is unpleasant, respawning is trippy and dizzy and they lose some memory on how to enchant and fix things.

But if they HAD to choose, I guess it'd be something that feels meaningful. Or especially personal.

Hero of the Overworld

Cornered by Wither Skeletons in a botched Fortress Run, Steve built and emergency portal to escape, and Glen followed them.

Hmm no, but hoglins aren't the worst the Nether has to offer, Steve got used to them pretty quickly. Even joined in on Piglin hunts on them. The Piglins had no say in this matter.

Through environmental cues, mostly. They notice that Piglins wear gold, and that baby Piglins steal gold nuggets that they mine in the Nether. This led them to first discovering bartering.

One day while getting chased by Piglins, they offer up a gold ingot and would you know it…. the Piglins stopped and gave them some gravel in return. This gravel was monumental to Steve.

Then they realised there's leftover gold armour in the chests beside Ruined Portals (which is how Steve discovered Portals to begin with). And if Piglins can lay their weapons down for an ingot, would they use those weapons against gold armour?

So they showed up wearing worn down shoddily made gold armour that they found in the chest and the Piglins were like “you know what, they’re cultured, we’ll let them live here as long as they dress how we like”.

(Basically, as long as Steve follows their customs and requirements as a sign of peace, they're cool. Glen has fun with this though)

From then on, Steve began making their gold armours super flashy and fancy, to further appease the Piglins in hopes for establishing a connection like with Villagers (also cuz gold is easy to work with). They even model the armour after Piglins somewhat.

Piglins were quite violent to Steve before this, but they never equated Piglins to somebody like Illagers and stayed more determined to find a way to make peace with them.

They watched how Piglins lived from afar and I think the presence of baby Piglins also impacted Steve’s view of them. Made them differentiate Piglins from a truly dangerous force like the Illagers.

I think… they met as kids! At the Illagers’ secret boot camp where all the young are raised and prepared for the wilderness (and killing), that doesn’t actually exist, but Steve wonders where all the Illager younglings are, so it exists in the Illagers’ memories.

It also made me wonder how Pillager captains has ominous bottles. I am sure that they were regular Pillagers before getting promoted to captain. Do Evokers give them the ominous bottle as some kind of protection charm? Or does this magically come with every single Pillager captain?

Ominous Bottles are such a monkey wrench to me ahaha I’m including them along with the automatic Bad Omen that you used to get as soon as you killed a Captain.

But yeah, I was thinking it is some ritualistic substance. Maybe indeed a protection charm to ‘trap all the bad energy or ‘omen’’ inside and be able to give it to something else.
