A term and flag for those who are kemono(mimi)’s and disabled!

July is disability pride month! So staying in the spirit I’m taking requests specifically for terms and flags around mental health, mental and physical disability and neurodiversity! ₊˚⊹

🐾 KEMONO(MIMI) FLAG !

Inspired by the kemonomimi flag made by @/wolfishb3ck on tiktok! sort of meant to be a redesign but also to be a different flag that’s inclusive to not just kemonomimis!

A term for those who identify either as kemonomimi or as a kemono, or as both! Can also be used by those who identify as furries, otherkin, critterhearted, therians, pet regressors, pet dreamers, or anyone else! There is no wrong way to use this term!

Kemonomimi: Literal translation is “beast ears.” A being who wears animal ears, tails, and other animal-like features (paws, fangs, etc). Can also refer to a fictional species of humans or humanlike beings with animal features. けものみみ is how kemonomimi is written in Japanese, where the term originates from!

Kemono: Literal translation is “beast.” An anthropomorphic animal (an animal given human traits) or someone who enjoys kemono characters. Can also referred to as furries although kemono is considered a bit different due to the style of the two being different. けもの is how kemono is written in Japanese, where the term originates from!

The colors individually don’t have meaning but I did want there to be specific themes. I wanted the top to represent land and avian animals and the bottom to represent marine or underground animals. I also wanted the colors to represent the large diversity among both animals and humans! The white stripe specifically represents unity among humans and animals, as well as the white underbelly that a lot of animals have.

I also made a custom symbol! I liked the symbol that wolfishb3ck used but I wanted to add my own take, plus I like the addition of the paws! I plan to make some specific species version of these flags and I can’t wait to customize them!
