Slightly ahead of schedule, here's the final chapter of arc 3!!!!!!! Posting the end note here since ao3 is a glitchy mess and won't let me upload a long end note without randomly deleting half of it! Spoilers ahead, obviously, so I'm hiding it below the cut.
"And with that, the third arc of For Your Sake, the Hearth arc, comes to an end! And what an end, huh? I hope you're not too mad at me for that cliffhanger….
Man, a lot of stuff sure happened in this chapter! The plot point of the Effirians' trial that started in chapter 17 came to an end with their brilliant victory; Leo and Arlo finally gave in to their feelings, but were stopped at the last moment by indecision and fear; and now, a ghost from Arlo's violent past has appeared once again to ruin all of his progress and happiness… I would say I'm sorry for all the angst that I dropped on you all of a sudden, but I'm kinda not </3 There's still more trauma I need to inflict on my poor gays…
Now if you've read this far, I once again want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Every hit, kudos, comment, anything, is such an honor for me, and you all keep me going by being here way more than you think. I'm incredible excited for you all to see what's next; our Luus have yet to reach their lowest low, and while everything could have come to a head this chapter, it didn't feel, to me, like they should… yet. I had tons of ideas for Fell already which felt perfect to explore now, and I've been working real hard on arc four (!!!) for the past few months! It's not quite done yet, though; I'd say it's about two thirds done. I need a few more weeks of work before I can start posting it here; but I promise I'll work my hardest to bring you the best possible story I can come up with <3 And from what I've written, I can say it's the most intense and incredible arc I've ever written…
Anyway, enough with the end note, and THANK YOU a million billion times for reading! I hope to see yall soon enough <3"
Gonna sleep for three days straight, now!!!!!!! Also probably gonna celebrate the conclusion of this massive arc with some good food and by getting cozy in bed! To my hedonistic nest of comfort I go ...
Got a very (very) intense and busy weekend coming up, not gonna be able to get progress done on the several art related projects I had cooking........
I'll do my best to post the arc 3 finale on sunday but fair warning, it might have to be monday instead :c Still got some final touch ups to give the chapter to make it as perfect as possible, and will have very little time and energy when I come home
But man, when I do come home... So much stuff is gonna get done .....
Got freed from responsibilities a little earlier than planned! Currently working on the final touch-ups for chapter 23, it will be posted on schedule!!!!!

Almost forgot to post this before going to sleep!!!!! Sorry for the kinda late upload! Shorter chapter this time around, lots and lots of talking between characters that had to happen at some point. Arc 3 finale next week! <3
I forgot to point it out in the end notes because I was kinda rushing the post to go to bed, but this is also the chapter that made me go on a really rough artblock that lasted... I think, two months? Month and a half? Can't remember exactly how long but it was the roughest time I've ever had with FYS
The first scene with Arlo and Autumn was so difficult to write I had to stop and reconsider what I was even doing with this story and with creative arts as a whole, I honestly thought I wouldn't get past it eafiubauifbuaeif
Eventually, I decided I needed a change of perspective for Autumn (who at that point of writing didn't even have a backstory in my mind!!!!), which led to me writing her short story!! I was super proud of it, but it also helped me a ton with figuring out who she was, how important she is both to Arlo and Leo, and where I wanted the story to go. It's been mostly smooth sailing from there, so I think it worked quite well <3

A while ago you sent me an ask about Rumi and Leo, and now I simply must ask back... But how do you think Rodrick and Arlo would get along? Roddy gives me "meanie who can secretly be kind of a softie" vibes, kinda like Arlo, but I wonder if they'd get along .....

Regarding Arlo and Rodrick, I think their first interaction would be kinda rocky and Rodrick's may give Arlo a tough time with his snarky remarks.
However, he's not doing it intentionally, it's just how he is.
Alternatively speaking, if they were to become close as friends, you'd be surprised how open Rodrick is about his interests and well.. Rumi of course.
He isn't as stoic as Arlo is, he has a lot more emotional side of him and funnily enough, he takes it from Rumi sometimes and becomes a chatterbox once comfortable.
However, it's brief and likely embarrasses him when he realizes he's talking more than usual.
