Another granny square experiment. Someone posted pics of a hexi in a facebook group, asking what stitch it was. My guess was alternating granny + moss stitch. Then I of course had to try it. And yeah, I was right! I'll definitely make something with this stitch combo in the future. It looks so nice, especially like this, with one variegated and one solid yarn.

What is colour dominance in stranded knitting? 🧶🌺✨
The floats of the colour held to the left sit under the other colour on the wrong side of your work.
These stitches have a bit more slack so they end up slightly longer.
The difference is subtle but will affect the look of your project.
So hold the colour you want to stand out to the left.
You can avoid colour dominance if you twist the yarns in the same direction at every colour change, but this method is labour-intensive and you’ll need to untwist your yarns every now and then.

Beantown Infinity Scarf
My sister had a terrific chunky, horseshoe cable-knit infinity scarf with a funky faux-braided border (in red), but over time it became covered in pills and dirt. She requested a replacement (in purple), and here it is!
Needs and notions: 315-350 yards of bulky yarn, size 11 needles, tapestry needle, crochet hook (for the border)
Final dimensions: 54" in diameter, 7.5" wide (Before adding the border, I blocked it to 60" x 6.5")
Gauge: Not important because it’s a scarf…but 3 stitches per inch.
***
CO 34 stitches, using a provisional cast-on.
Odd rows (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13) are RS, even rows (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14) are WS. Row 9 is the cable row; the rest are knitted and purled in pattern. The pattern has 14 rows total.
Row 1 and all odd/RS non-cable rows: P1, K2, P2, K24, P2, K2, P1
Row 2 and all even/WS rows: K1, P2, K2, P24, K2, P2, K1
Row 9 (cable row): P1, K2, P2, C6F (knit all stitches), C6B (knit all stitches), P2, K2, P1
Repeat the pattern until you reach your desired length. Two skeins of Cascade 128–256 yards–was good for 17.5 repeats of the pattern and produced a 60" long piece when gently blocked flat.
After blocking, join the two ends with a kitchener stitch (or your preferred method).
For the border, gather four strands of yarn together and crochet a slip-stitch crochet chain along each edge of the scarf, beginning and ending at the join and with the “V” shape of your chain on the RS with the same orientation as the horseshoe cable. There should be one link on the crocheted chain per two rows of knitting; be careful to keep your chain in a straight line along the edge of the knitted pattern.
(Some useful instructions for crocheting a border are here: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter08/FEATwin08TT.php; bear in mind that you’ll be holding the yarn quadrupled rather than singly as shown. I bought an extra skein of yarn and simply pulled from both ends of two skeins to get four strands, but that’s hardly the only way to do it–you could wind your final skein doubled-over and then pull from both ends, for instance, or otherwise get creative!)
Weave in all your ends and enjoy!

I fell in love with this pattern so I’m trying my hand at making the scarf! I’m so happy with how it’s turning out so far!
Poor lighting but, it's finished! I turned it into an infinity scarf, it took almost exactly 3 skeins of yarn I had left over from another project. I thought I had a dark brown of the same yarn for the edges but, alas I had already used it up.
