Single-pass brioche
Two-coloured brioche is a 4-row pattern, but it can be worked in 2 rows if you work both colours at the same time 🧶🧶🧶
Light side and dark side rows are confusingly similar, but it helps me to think that if I work a single stitch I should also end up with a single stitch and if I work a double stitch, I should end up with a double stitch.
👉 Hold the knit stitch colour to the right. This means you have to switch the position of the yarns when you turn your work
i was going to participate in tour de fleece but my muscular pain, stiffness and spasms have gotten really bad so instead here's some weaving
im using odds and ends of handspun in the warp and a single as my weft. i don't know if it is going to be a very long airy scarf or used as fabric yet but i really like how it looks

Shipping outside the USA is not currently available through the store, but I can and do ship internationally – just message me about it and I can send you an invoice through paypal or venmo once I can get you a shipping estimate.
Any order of 2 or more items comes with a free watercolour bookmark!
I’m still very slowly but steadily working through sampler after sampler with pleasing results. Also frustrating just bc I have so little time and so much fatigue.
This is one sampler from about 6 weeks ago that I think is particularly pretty, and a nice break from regular fans and footsides. There are some tensions issues; i’m working on that.

My latest experiment has been spinning silk for embroidery threads!
The threads were certainly not perfect - I'm still pretty new to the supported spindle, so they were quite unevenly spun and plied. There were a few sections that I just had to cut out. Also, because it's silk top rather than reeled silk, the threads were slightly fuzzy with the ends of the staples floating around.
But - it turned out that none of that mattered very much? The big holes in aida cloth were very forgiving of variable thickness, but at the same time the stitches on the right side are small enough that the fuzz is mostly trapped down.
The final design has a really nice sheen to it. Compared the standard mercerised cotton in the final pic, there's a huge difference in how they reflect the light.
I definitely want to do more of this! You can get a lot of embroidery out of a very small weight of fibre.
