Flossed & Found

Earth Day was yesterday. I forgot. 

Sorry, mom. 

Have we flossed too deep, or could that be the tingle of Cupid’s arrow we’re feeling? Love can have a funny way of sneaking up on us, and when we’re least expecting it, whoosh: suddenly we’re dancing in the street, kissing in the rain.

The 4th of July BBQ is an age old American tradition, at which disposable cutlery, plates, and cups have long been staples. But what’s this? A modern twist! In today’s America, if you’re going to be eating outside, you’re probably going to be flossing outside, too. America the beautiful.

As Winter turns to Spring, we find ourselves shedding our old skins, and searching for something new. But sometimes what we’re searching for comes down in flurry, right under our very own feet: new leaves, new life.

The floss that started it all: April 27, 2015. Believe it or not, there was a time when dental floss floated untethered through our world, free from plastic handles. 

Snapping this photo on that Spring morning by the bike rack, I had no idea what I was getting into. But seeing floss in the wild is a thing one can never un-see.
