    “oh...alright then.” she wasn’t entirely sure how to exactly respond to them but she put on a little smile and went from there. “i’m sorry to hear that?”

“I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Amaria.“ She would have extended her hand for a hand shake but Amaria had something against shaking hands with vampires and human shifters. “You’re welcome.“

     “We haven’t. I’m a bit new here. I’m Maria.” The vampire replies with a soft smile before she takes a sip from the blood that resided in her glass. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Amaria.”

Liam sat at the bar and watched the guy try and fail to buy the beauty a drink and chuckled once he left. “Persistent bloke, wasn’t he?”

     Maria heaves a sigh as she watches him leave. She sips from her wine glass and turns to look at the man at her side. She laughs and nods her head. “Very persistent and very annoying. I’ve seen him watching me since I walked in.”

“Beat it, creep, she’s clearly not interested.” Salome said from the stool beside the beautiful vampire. Apparently something about the look on her face did the trick because the guy got lost. “I swear some people can’t take a hint!”

     “Oh.” She glances over to the girl at her side before she looked to see the man walking off. She turns in her stool to offer the girl a smile. “Thank you and no they truly can’t. I’d hope over the years they’d learn and yet here we are.”

Julian walked behind Maria as the other man offered her a drink. When she refused he almost persisted but one look at Julian made them change their minds. “You still know how to knock them dead, papusa.” He whispered in her ear with a soft chuckle before taking the seat the other man vacated.

     Maria feels him before she sees him and that hint of a smile grows into a real one. She watches as the man turns to leave the chair that Julian was now sitting in. “It seems I still got it or whatever it is these kids are saying now.” she winks at him with a playful smile. “You still know how to make them scatter.”

“Consider it a peaceful offering. You’ll eventually need another drink when you’re done.“ Amaria smiled, pushing the second glass towards her as she took a seat. “Tonight is a celebration isn’t it?“

       “Well, you got me there.” Maria replies as she watches the second glass get pushed in her direction. “I heard it is. I wouldn’t want to put a damper on the festive mood I suppose.” her free hand goes to rest at the base of the other drink she had been given. “Thank you.”
